MAYDAY!!! MAYDAY!!! MAYDAY!!!...........SOS.........SOS.........HELP!!! Where are Hawkeye and rapper when you needthem?MEDIC! Tese were all thought that raced through my mindas I suffered a catastrophic injury earlier in the day.Te day started out like any other, and the arther alongit went the deeper I got into my trench. Some people get into a rut..........not me........Ivebeen at it so long that its way too deep and wide........itsa trench. Got my coffee, checked the weather, checked my

e-mail and did all those other ritualistic things I do as Iget deeper into my day........and my trench. I was eeling pretty good about everyth ing, whenmy stomach hollered at me. Hey dummy, Id likesomething more than coffee. oo early to start fixing steak and baked potatoes,so I asked......What would you like? A rather largegrowl was the only reply, so I headed to the kitchen.Te rerigerator is loaded, plenty o bunches o stuff anda lot o lefovers too. It all seemed way over the top atthe time, so I decided on one o my all time avorites,an English Muffin. Dont know why they call it a muffin, doesnt look like a muffin, doesnt taste like a muffin........but thats what they call it. I have a avorite brand, Tomass. Cant get em

around here so I have to settle or a knock off. Tey say theyre ork split, dont understand thatpart either, cause you have to cut the darn things to getem open.........and thats where I received my injury. Ive got a big old bread knie, not with little bittyhack saw type teeth......no.....these suckers could cutpavement. Im cutting away, trying to ollow the orksplit line, when suddenly the muffin opened up likethe Grand Canyon, and the bread knie plummetedto the bottom, which is where I was holding on to it.wo o the teeth sunk into my finger, and I knew I wasa gonner...........HAWKEYE.......MEDIC. Nobody everlistens to me.......Ten I recalled that when Dad cuthimsel shaving, he would place a piece o toilet paperon it to stop the bleeding. I it worked or Dad, it should

work or me..........and it did.......in time.........five or tenseconds......maybe more. I dont have a camera handy, so heres the best I cando to show you my injury:

(--) Tank goodness the parenthesis arent part o theinjury, or Id be laid up or a month, as it is, Ill only beout o action or part o an hour. ~ Hugh Morris
