Calling Volunteers We are looking for “Tinkerbells” and “Sir Galahads”! Perhaps you have a special talent or interest that could be of service to one of your fellow residents. If that is so, we are interested in hearing from you. We would like to create a “Volunteer Core” that other residents could refer to for assis-tance with tasks such as secretarial or office help, light sewing (buttons or hems), cell phone questions, etc. Sometimes it is as simple as helping to open a tight jar, or lifting a box! We will keep a log of volun-teers and their talents to give to residents in need. Email or call Ronnie: [email protected]

Speaking of Volunteers… Be sure to turn in your “blue sheet” that is a record of your 2020 volunteer hours any-where in Ames or here. This is VERY im-portant to Northcrest’s non-profit status!! If you need a sheet, look on the Northcrest website under Resident Login.

Resident Portion of Website Did you know you can find a listing of ALL residents for phone numbers and address-es on the northcrestcommunity.org web-site? It is listed under Resources and Links in the Resident Section. This is up- dated monthly. Check it out!!

Walk for Fitness in Hallways! If you walk every hallway on the First Floor of the Main Bldg staying to the right, you will walk approximately a half mile! If you walk one hallway in the Parkway Bldg, your editor got around 300 steps. If you do all 4 floors, you would be in that half mile range. If you add 2 flights of stairs you would add 116 steps, and some cardio workout. Let me know what your “Fit-Bit” reads; we all take different lengths of steps!

Fed. Economic Impact Payments If you were eligible for an Economic Impact Payment (stimulus), up to $600 for individu-als and $1200 for couples, you may have seen a direct deposit to your account in January. Those that did not receive them through direct deposit were issued checks or debit cards in the mail. You might mis-take those debit cards for some kind of scam, but they are legitimate payments from the IRS. For more information go to https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment.

NC Referral Bonus Remember, you as a resident are eligible to receive a referral bonus if you recommend someone who moves into Northcrest! There are a few units available, so talk with Brenda if you have a friend who would love living at Northcrest like you!!
