RED BIRD MISSION TRIP April 19 – 25, 2020 Sign up for the Red Bird Mission Trip has been very successful. If you have not signed up and are interested in going please contact Mayo Collier at 843 6015968 or [email protected]. We need several more ladies to sign up. An important part of our work at Red Bird is the Outreach Ministry. We visit several families that are in severe need, suffering the plight of the disadvantaged. Red Bird has no system to support them. Our vising teams try to deter- mine what we can do for them in 24 hours that will be life changing. This ministry is financed by contribuons to our Red Bird Designated Fund. One can support this with a contribuon made out to St. Paul UMC and designated Red Bird. Put your check in the offering plate and you can give it directly to Mayo Collier for deposit. Our prayer is that God will lead us to Those He wants us to serve and provide the servers as well as the financial re- sources. Please connue to pray for all in the Red Bird Community and for Gods guidance in this mission trip. February ~ The Month of Love There is a made-up day, called Valentines Day, on the 14th of February. It is an opportunity to buy a card, or gift, or flowers, or a meal for your loved one. That seems like a good thing but why just one day? Scripture indicates that we should demonstrate love whenever and wherever we can—not one day but as often as we can. I have a short scripture verse pinned to my office door; the only thing that counts is faith working through love.(Gal. 5:6b) It reminds me of Valentines Day, yesterday, today, and next Tuesday. In my marriage, I pray it be Godly. In my family and friend relationships, I pray they be connected to my faith in Christ. In our dealings with our community and world, let us be first centered on our faith in Christ then express our love in ways which are pleasing to God. In Christs Name, Scott Pastor Scott Thank You for Giving to the Lord The Outreach Committee was overwhelmed by the response from the members and friends of Saint Paul in supporting their Advent collection with 182 Teddy Bears and 15 stuffed animals to be distributed to city and county fire departments. The stuffed animals were given to needy children at Christmas who would not have received a gift. Our God works in mysterious ways. A comfort measure collection meant for some chil- dren was expanded to provide joy for those whose need was not even known by us. Through your acts of kindness and caring we have shared the love of our Lord Jesus, not only with those who receive the gifts, but also with numerous members of our Fire Departments. PRAISE THE LORD.
