Congratulations District Science Fair Winners
Fifth graders from DFESAES, along with 11 other district
elementary schools, competed in the District Five Science Fair on
Saturday, February 6 at Dutch Fork High School. We are so proud of
our winners and equally proud of all who participated. The winners
in their categories for this year are as follows:

For Heart Our Jump Rope for Heart celebration will be held
on
Thursday, March 17. Please be
reminded that all students need to wear tennis shoes on
that day!
Thank you to everyone who has sent in Box Tops! From April
2015 through October 2016 we have earned $801.20 from Box Tops
for our school! The next deadline is March 1. Clean out your pantry
and send in all your box tops! We earn 10 cents for
each Box Top for Education and it all adds up!
Magnet Schools of America Poster Contest Congratulations to the
following students for participating in the Magnet Schools of
America Poster Contest. Several students from 4th grade worked very
hard with Mrs. Catoe to create a design:

These students will receive a prize for participating. We could
only submit one creation for the contest. The school winner who
will have her entry submitted is Shailynn W. The judging will take
place for the national winner in February. Lets all wish Shailynn
good luck as she moves on to the next round of judging and
congratulations to all the students for their willingness to share
their talents and represent DFESAES.

SC State Library announces StoryfestSC 2016 Summer Reading Kick-Off
Lineup. The sixth-annual statewide summer reading kickoff will
feature award winning author/illustrators Jarrett Krosoczka and
Lauren Castillo on Saturday, June 4, 2016. This years theme is On
Your Mark, Get SetREAD! Look for more information and reminders in
