ome join usat the magnificent Mendocino Woodlands for a week of English
dancing, music-making, singing, feasting, and merry abandon. We
offer classes in historic and contemporary country dance, display
dance, music, and song. We promise a program that will challenge
and delight both new and experienced dancers, complete with the time-honored morris
tour toMendocinoand our daily,much-loved singingby the steps.
he MendocinoWoodlands camp lies deep in a quiet redwood forest a few
miles inland from the coastal townofMendocino, a four-hour drive north of San Francisco.
This secluded, lush, and temperate setting imparts a special energy that has drawn dancers
andmusicians for years.
hroughout the day you'll have ample opportunities for both learning and
leisure, time to explore new skills, and time to enjoy new friends. You can dance andmake
music all day long, or you can pace yourself, and take time to explore the redwoods or to
swim in the nearby creek. At night there will be more dancing, plus some special
entertainmentor an after-hours diversionbefore you retire.
ccommodations at theWoodlands are solidly-built, rustic redwood cabins,
each housing two people. Each cabin, while without electricity, has its own stone fireplace
and wooden balconywith views of the pond, the meadow, or the majestic redwood trees.
Nearbybathhouses are equippedwith electricity and plenty of hotwater.
