The MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES A-LMS platform is the latest addition to our suite of products to support

green initiatives, in this case for theater lighting applications. The A-LMS brings ‘smart’ capabilities to auditorium

lighting control based on the use of power-saving LED fixtures.

In a typical installation, the A-LMS receives scene cue commands from an automation or d-cinema server via

GPI contact closures, RS-232, or network interface.

The unit comes standard with a lacing bar at the rear to facilitate and support the control cabling. The rack

mounting ears may be removed if the unit is desired to mount to a wall.

The Moving iMage Technologies A-LMS 20L

continues the line of lighting control products

begun with the cinema industry workhorse M4800

dimmer over a decade ago, and more recently

expanded into 1-10VDC lighting control with our

A-LMS 24 product, by providing both functions

in the same unit. The perfect solution to aid the

transition from 120V incandescent lighting to solid-

state LED lighting, since it supports both. The A-LMS

20L is a forward or “leading edge” type phase

control dimmer. It is not compatible with fixtures

that require “reverse” or “trailing edge” phase

control.

Designed as the complement to our Architectural Lighting Management System lighting controller, the Moving

iMage Technologies Architectural LED Fixture (ALF) is the first LED-based 8” downlight luminaire designed

specifically for cinema auditoriums. Actually two light fixtures in one, it includes two sets of LED elements that

may be controlled separately. One set is typically selected for dimming to low levels while an audience is

present. The other channel can use the same type LED elements for increased overall lumen output, or may

be a more intense, brighter white for use during cleaning.

The Moving iMage Technologies ALF 4” and ALF 4”G are the latest additions to our low voltage LED line of

lighting products. Based on the same technology as their ALF 8” big brother, but with a single LED module

providing the illumination. The product is specifically intended for where a narrow beam angle is required,

for example hallways, aisles, or use in front of the screen. The design includes an optical element to focus the

light to approximately 10 degrees beam angle.

The ALF 4”G version brings the LED module down below the ceiling with a pivoting gimbal to allow the light to

be aimed at artwork on a side wall, or to illuminate a guest speaker or a panel discussion.

The ALS wall sconce continues the dual-channel architecture begun with the ALF 8” LED

fixture, translated into a wall sconce.

The Moving iMage Technologies ALS wall sconce uses the same MiT

proprietary LED driver and offers the same 2000:1 dimming range

as the ALF series of LED downlights. The sconce utilizes a narrow

footprint to be as unobtrusive as possible when off. The unit is

supplied by an external low-voltage power supply of 24-30VDC

(there’s no AC wiring to the sconce). The sconce may be mounted

to the wall or suspended from the ceiling grid. Controlled by ALMS

series controller or other controller corresponding to the IEC 60929

1.0-10V standard.

Two models of the unit are offered: a single-channel, front illuminated

only, and a 2-channel that also provides indirect illumination from

the rear. Other custom arrangements are possible, for example a

gobo projector to throw a silhouette image on the wall. Note: when

used for indirectly lighting the side wall the sconce should be hung

from above or mounted 12”-24” away from the wall.
