• A sponge can be cut in half or in quar-ters, but only the rounded parts of it

should be used for sponging.

• The apple box can be placed on a piece of paper for easy turning while painting.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wipe the bisque with a damp sponge to remove ceramic dust.

2. Paint the leaf and stem with Yellow # 19 using a small round brush. Apply 3 coats.

3. Paint the top of the apple box with Red # 90. Use a small round brush to carefully paint areas where the apple meets the leaf and the stem. Then use a Fan brush to cover sides of the box faster.

4. Paint the rim of the lower half of the apple box Red # 90. Use a Fan brush to paint from the edges downward.

5. Sponge the mid section of the bottom half of the apple with Purple # 41.

6. Place the lower part of the apple box upside down to have easy access to the bottom of the shape. Load a Fan brush with Blue # 35 and paint the lower half slightly overlapping the Purple.

7. Apply second and third coats to Red and Blue areas of the apple box.

8. Close the box and use a sponge to add some texture with Purple all around the mid sec-tion of the apple box. Press down on the leaf part of the box with one hand while sponging with the other to make sure the apple box stays in place during this process.

• Smear Black paint over the dragon handle and wipe most of it off using the

same sponge.

• Some black paint should stay in the crevasses of the ragon.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wipe the bisque with a damp sponge to remove ceramic dust.

2. Use a sponge dipped in Black # 31 to deposit color into the crevasses of the handle de-sign.

3. Use a clean damp sponge to wipe off most of the paint. Smear the black paint left on the sponge all over the outside of the mug to make it look like dark gray clouds.

4. Paint inside of the mug Green # 27. Use a large flat brush. Apply 3 coats.

5. Use a medium round brush to paint the dragon’s body and wings with yellow # 19. Apply 2 coats.

6. Paint outside of the mug with one coat of purple # 41 using a large flat brush.

7. Use a medium round brush to add arched brush strokes with purple # 92 all around the mug, These curved strokes should look like clouds.

8. Use a small round brush to add purple # 92 and green #27 accents to the face, body and wings of the dragon. Make sure to wash the brush between colors. See the sample image for color positioning.

• When wiping black paint off the ten-tacles, use a damp sponge. Keep turning

the sponge to use clean parts of it.

• Some black paint should stay in the crevases of the tentacles.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wipe the bisque with a damp sponge to remove ceramic dust.

2. Use a fan brush to cover the tentacle parts of the mug with one coat of Black # 31.

3. Use a clean damp sponge to wipe off most of the paint. Black should be left in cevases of the tentacles to accentuate the texture.

4. Paint the mug with two coats of Black # 31, inside and out, but leave the tentacles as they are.

5. Paint the tentacles Blue # 35. Use a medium round brush. Apply 2 to 3 coats. Let dry.

6. Wipe off some of the color from the raised parts of the tentacles. Use a clean damp sponge to do that.

7. Apply third and final coat of Black to the inside and outside of the mug. Be careful when painting next to the blue. Use a smaller brush to paint where the colors meet.
