President & CEO Ikuo Kobayashi Feature Articles on Thailand This year marks the 32nd anniversary since Fujikura started operations in Thailand in 1984. In April 2010, Fujikura Electronics Thailand Ltd. (hereafter FETL) was founded through the consolidation of separately run companies. The Fujikura Group in Thailand has grown to include Fujikura Bangkok Office, seven plants of FETL, DDK (Thailand) Ltd. and two plants of Fujikura Thailand Automotive (THAILAND) Ltd. We are grateful to our customers and partners for their support, which enabled us to achieve this. In October 2011, because of the most disastrous flooding in Thailand, 10 of our 13 bases there at that time were submerged in water within as short as two weeks to cause devastating damage. In such a critical situation, the entire group companies worked hard as one with then CEO Mr. Nagahama's strong determination to reconstruct the facilities and resume the operations. In 2015, the production volume got back to its pre-flooding level thanks to being blessed with good customers. Our local staff of the plants will take the lead in improving productivity and product quality, aiming to increase reliability. The entire staff will make efforts as a unit to increase reliability in the whole group companies by further promoting low-cost automation and management focusing on product quality and putting electronics and connector businesses as the centerpiece of Fujikura business. 2016 11

FETL Kabinburi PlantAfter 2011 Thailand floods, this cutting-edge FPC manufacturing plant was built in 2013 at a location safe from the danger of floods from the viewpoint of BCP. The plant manufactures mainly double-sided FPC boards and multi-layer FPC boards. It is the second largest manufacturing facility after Ayutthaya Plant.

FETL Lamphun PlantThis plant was built in 1989 in Northern Region Industrial Estate in Lamphun, a suburb of Chiang Mai. The plant produces HDD components, membrane switches and various optical components and aims to become the top maker in each product area.

FETL Navanakorn Plant 1This plant, our oldest production base in Thailand, was founded in 1984 to produce electronic wires. The plant currently produces high-speed transmission cables, ultra-thin coaxial cables, heat pipes, water cooling systems for supercomputers and CPU reinforcing materials and has started mounting components on FPC boards and back end processing this year.We will continue to provide new products through our quality control and advanced technologies that have been developed for more than 30 years.

FETL Navanakorn Plant 3Founded in 1989, this plant provides mainly blanking dies for FPCs and membranes, fine molding dies for resin connectors and stamping dies, jigs and components.We are determined to continuously make efforts in producing dies and components that will satisfy our customers by closely cooperating with each factory.

DDK (THAILAND) Ltd.

FETL Navanakorn Plant 2This plant was founded in 1988 and produces single-sided FPC boards.It produces FPC boards used mainly in camera, AV equipment and automobiles and has received ISO/TS-16949 certification.

Fujikura Automotive (Thailand) Ltd.

FETL Prachinburi PlantFounded in 1995, this production plant carries out back end processes of FPC production and mounting of components onto FPCs and also produces FPC boards for HDDs. The plant is located within easy access to Ayutthaya Plant and Kabinburi Plant and faces a transportation crossroad, Asia Highway

In January 1996, this company was founded as the Thailand production facility of Fujikura Automotive Asia Ltd., a Fujikura's group company. In February 2014, Korat Plant was founded. As a member of the automotive products business unit, Fujikura Automotive (Thailand) produces wire harnesses for automobiles solely in Thailand and exports and sells them in Thailand, Japan and European countries.

This plant was founded in 2000 to produce flexible printed circuit (FPC) boards in an integrated process and currently plays a key role as the base plant of our FPC business in Thailand. This plant has acted as the head office of FETL since 2014.The plant is located in Rojana Industrial Park, which is close to famous ruins at Ayutthaya, and mainly produces double-sided and multi-layer FPC boards and those mounted with components.

This plant was founded in 1988 as the integrated production facility of connectors for electronic devices and provides different kinds of the products mainly for smartphones. It also focuses on the automotive market, where computerization is going on. We strive to take advantage of our total solution service from product development proposal to post-shipment support.
