PRAYER TO THE HOLY TRINITY

Glory be to the Father, Who by His almighty

power and love created me, making me in the

image and likeness of God.

Glory be to the Son, Who by His Precious Blood

delivered me from hell and opened for me the

gates of heaven.

Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who has sanctified me

in the sacrament of Baptism and continues to

sanctify me by the graces

I receive daily from His bounty.

Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the

Holy Trinity, now and forever. Amen

FROM THE DESK OF DEACON GARY

Trinity Sunday is the first Sunday after Pentecost. We honor the Holy Trinity—the Father, Son and Ho-

ly Spirit. This Sunday, is the feast day of our Parish. Although the word “trinity” does not appear in Scrip-

ture, it is taught in Matthew 28:18-20 and 2 Corinthians 13:14. The concept of the trinity can never be

completely understood or rationalized, but it is clearly taught in Scripture. Understanding of all scriptural

doctrine is by faith which comes through the work of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is appropriate that this

mystery is celebrated the first Sunday after Pentecost, when the outpouring of the Holy Spirit first occurred.

On Trinity Sunday, our Church ponders with joy and thanksgiving what the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

have done to accomplish the salvation of humanity. It is brought to remembrance how we as Christians

should respond to the love God has shown us, praising Him and giving Him glory. We remember the Fa-

ther as our Creator, the Son as our Savior and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter. Our psalm today is from

Daniel, "And blessed is your holy and glorious name, praiseworthy and exalted above all for all ages." And

from our second reading from Corinthians, "Brothers and sisters, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one

another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you."

Today, Trinity Sunday we try to understand, to the best of our ability, the clues written in Scripture to guide

us to a fuller appreciation of our triune God. The Father is God from the beginning (John 1:1); Jesus re-

vealed Himself as equal to the Father in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” Together, they sent the

Holy Spirit (John 14:26). “For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word and the

Holy Spirit; and these three are one” (1 John 5:7-11).

As we celebrate our parish feast day, may we remember the love, mercy and unity of Father, Son and Holy

Spirit. May we be examples of love, mercy and unity to everyone we meet.

As a note, our cover for the bulletin today is our parish logo, a logo that was created by a parishioner. We

thank that parishioner for his talent.

CEMETERY COLUMBARIUM Our original plan was to have our columbarium for

St. Michael Cemetery in place by Memorial

weekend. We have been notified that the delivery

has been delayed. We will keep you informed

when it is in place most likely in mid June At that

time we will have it blessed by Bishop Cistone.

FIRST SUNDAY MASS ASSOCIATION

We are renewing the First Sunday Mass

Association beginning July 2018. Members of the

Association submit names to be remembered at all

Masses the First Sunday of each month beginning

in July, for an offering of $60.00. Additional fliers

can be found in the entrance of church or if you

have additional questions, please contact the

parish office at 879-2141.

MEMORIAL DAY 2018

This is the first National Holiday of the year and it

is the day that officially begins summer activities.

It began many years ago as a

special day of remembrance and

prayers for our “grateful dead” of

the military who gave their lives in

the service of their country. Over

the years, it evolved to remember

all the faithful departed, with

special emphasis on visiting and

decorating the graves.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael/St.

Agnes Cemetery on May 29th at 9:00 a.m. In case

of inclement weather, our service will be held in

church.

St. Mary Memorial Day Service will be held

Monday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity

Parish, St. Mary Nine Mile Church. Come join us

in celebration of our fallen soldiers and those

currently serving in the military. Bring a photo of

the loved one you are honoring to share with

others. If you have been in any branch of the

military, we would like you to be part of a

procession at church. Please arrive by 1:45 to line

up.

PLEASE NOTE THAT HOLY TRINITY

PARISH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED

MONDAY, MAY 28TH IN REMEMBERANCE

OF MEMORIAL DAY. IN CASE OF

EMERGENCY, PLEASE LEAVE A

MESSAGE. WE CHECK OUR MESSAGES

THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

PROJECT ASSISTANCE NEEDED

On the weekend beginning Friday evening, June

8th and going through late Saturday afternoon,

June 9th we plan to replace the roof on the north

end of the school and the shed in the

playground. We thank Wimsatt for donating the

roofing material for these projects. We are in need

of support assistance from six people on Friday

evening and six people throughout the day on

Saturday to assist Paul Grzegorczyk and the

Niedzwieckis as they do the reroofing. If you are

able to help there is a sign up sheet in church or

call the church office 879-2141. Any assistance

will be appreciated. Please note that if any student

needs community service hours, this would be an

excellent opportunity to fill those hours.

STEWARDSHIP MESSAGE

Feast of the Holy Trinity “The Spirit itself bears

witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint

heirs with Christ…” – ROMANS 8:16-17

If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t

we work to build up His kingdom? Shouldn’t we be

good stewards of our inheritance, using our time

in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our

treasure to care for the Church that God has left to

us? Our Church is a treasured heirloom from God.

Do we treat it that way?

ORDINATION TO THE ORDER OF

PRIESTHOOD

Please join Bishop Joseph Cistone Friday, June

1st, 2:30 p.m. at Cathedral of Mary of

the Assumption, Saginaw where he will

ordain Deacon Jerome Green and

Deacon Adam Maher to the Order of

Priesthood. All are welcome and

invited to attend the Mass.

Congratulations to Matthew Federico who on May

18th was ordained to the transitional diaconate. In

the Catholic Church, the transitional diaconate

precedes the ordination to the priesthood.
