    I. Introduction

In our time today we are in danger of what we call global warming. Global

warming is the effect of having too much carbon dioxide in the air or the smokes coming

out on power plants and etc. Our company Helio Tech Inc. Want to make a difference by

using only products that lessen or doesn‟t cause global warming to worsen. Helio Tech

Incorparated name came from greek mythology which is the personification of the sun,

Helio because the company produce products that use only solar powered devices to

promote green energy or clean energy to help our environment. People are in need today

of an energy source because all people have gadgets today but it‟s limitation is it has

limited batteries that can becharged so the people will need a source of energy but you

can‟t get an outlet everywhere, so that‟s where  our product comes in because of our

product people will have a source of energy for charging everywhere they go they just

need to power it in sunlight making it more easy to get a source of energy, with our

product having an affordable price people will sure to buy because they need it and they

    can afford it.

    II. Product or Service

The company‟s first product the solar power outlet called the “Tesla Outlet” is an

outlet that you can carry around your bag or in your pocket that gets it‟s power from the

sun. The company called it the Tesla Outlet because Nikola Tesla the genius inventor

wanted for us free electricity, which is the product of the company here that provides you

electricity everywhere you go. The “Tesla Outlet” is an outlet that will help you charge

your phones or laptops it‟s just needs to be in direct sunlight, meaning you won‟t need to

charge it like a powerbank. Since today we are in a crisis of global warming the company

decided to produce products using solar panels. What‟s unique about this product is that

this product is not only useful but also looks good because you can choose the size, how

many sockets and what color. The size of the outlet is starting to 120cm x 70cm and can

even vary to smaller and bigger sizes depending on how many sockets. It has a 15 W

solar panel and it‟s casing is made of aluminum. In the near future the company is

determined to upgrade the product and sell it more so that more people are going to use

solar power rather than other sources which is a clean source of energy.

    III. Technology

The product “Tesla Outlet” is a portable outlet that will charge or power your

laptops, cellphones, TVs and etc. In a place that has no electricity for example outdoors,

the car or in a mall. It is a small device with a small solar panel in it‟s surface wi th a

socket on the other side. The solar panel absorbs the sunlight and powers the outlet

making it capable of producing electricity to charge your laptops, phones, camera, etc.

The solar There are more additional research ongoing with this product on how to make it

more efficient and absorbs more power to increase it‟s effect on other products plugged

    in to it.

    IV. Market Environment

The locale of the business will be stationed n 91 M. Almeda St. Pateros, Metro

Manila. There will be numerous advantages for the business for choosing the said

location of the locale. The highest priority for securing this location is for acquisition of

the most vital target market, the students and people who are drastically in need of a

power source while away from the convenience of power outlets and common power

banks which offer much lesser capacity than our product. Since the company will only

provide the delivery service, the advantage is that the advertisements on the product will

be done online for convenience to both producer and consumer parties.

    7/18

This survey about the people‟s insight on the product‟s substitutes shows how inferior

and less convenient they are compared to the Tesla Outlet. Most answered that their

problems will be solved by patronizing the product in exchange for conventional power

sources. Judging from the survey‟s result, the product will be a success once it has

reached the market and the people‟s attention.

    V. Competition

There will be many competitions for the business as there are many direct

competition products in electronic stores that provide the same output, such as the power

banks. The strength of the competing power bank products are their efficiency as their

functionality provides simple and fast enough for small electronics such as smartphones.

  • 8/19/2019 Feasibility Study for Social Science

    8/18

However their weakness is of that their capacity is dependent on their size and price and

they are very reliant on power outlets that they need to charge on beforehand. The

innovation of our product fixes this by implementing the same functionality as a normal

power bank would in case of no available source of sunlight whilst also cultivating the

sunny weather of the Philippines into a power source. Indirect competitions will be small

electronics stores that provide wide array of products substitute for a portable power

source such as CD-R King and mobile centers that sell spare batteries.

    VI. Industry

The business will enter the consumer electronics industry competing for

dominance in the market. It will implement innovations after innovations on electronics

that are deemed productive on daily lives. Consumer electronics is products intended for

everyday use, most often in entertainment, communications and office productivity. Later

products of the company includes innovations or complementary gadgets on personal

computers, telephones, MP3 players, audio equipment, televisions, calculators, GPS

automotive electronics, digital cameras and players and recorders or camcorders.

Increasingly these products have become based on digital technologies, and have largely

merged with the computer industry. The large force that drives the consumer electronics

market is innovation since technology is an ever expanding field in the industry. This is

why the company aims for the convenience of innovation.

    VII. Business Model

The enterprise will generate revenue by undergoing a direct selling model since it

will procure more products with ever increasing innovations. While direct selling was

initially the primary „route to market‟, production efficiencies coupled with

improvements in transportation meant producers could reach a much bigger market.

However the emergence of the Internet as a distribution channel meant that producers

could outwit costly resellers and sell direct to customers themselves, in effect going the

full circle. Such as they are, the business will also use the internet as an advantage to sell

more to the target market by making use of e-commerce websites.

    The enterprise

    will generate

    revenue byundergoing a

    direct selling

    model since it will

     procure more

     products with ever

    increasing

    innovations.

    Consumers will

     buy the product

    due to its

    functionality and

    advertisements.

    The order is

    shipped to the

    customer‟s

    address.

    VIII. Marketing and Business Strategy

Our advertisements will cover all of the features of the product in the minimum

amount of duration. It will show the innovative product in the most possible alluring way.

The advertisement will also inform the viewers how it will most certainly be useful in

  • 8/19/2019 Feasibility Study for Social Science

    11/18

their lives. The medium of advertisement that shall be used will be the most effective and

efficient for electronics which is through visuals. We will avoid the placement of ads on

television as it will cost the business dearly while gaining the target market poorly. As

such the medium for advertisement for our product shall be through websites, social

networks, and other means that will grab the attention of electronic users and not casual

    masses watching television.

    IX. Production/Operating Requirements

The production/manufacturing of the product will be done at a separate building

next to the main office. The raw materials that‟s needed for the product will outsourced

from nearby countries or as much as possible, within the country only to lessen the

production cost. Since this is only product of the company, the space that the production

will took place will be small but adequate enough to fit in the machines and people that

will manufacture the product. The production department will only have one shift per day

since we will limit the production of the product up to one hundred pieces/unit per day.

The main office will require the usual office things like tables/desks, chairs, bond papers,

printers, computer, receipts and vouchers, pens, clips, staplers, water dispenser, a rest

room and a pantry as well. While the manufacturing facility will have all the

machines/equipment necessary to make the product which includes the basic set of tools,

and a cleaning area/locker room for the employees of the production department.

product. And of course, the Maintenance that will be responsible for maintaining the

cleanliness of the work place. The whole place must be clean every day after work.

    XI. Intellectual Property

The company logo is a lightbulb with a sun on it‟s side. The company came up

with that logo because the sun represents the solar powered products that the company

will be using and the lightbulb is a symbol of the company‟s ideas and other upcoming

ideas that the company will produce. The lightbulb is in the lightbulb because of the ideas

    14/18

that the company will develop and produce is under the solar powered products. To

register the product for copyright, the company filled up the registration form and deposit

form from the IPO office, then the company filed an affidavit or sworn statement of

copyright ownership. Next the company representative produced documents with a recent

photograph and his/her signature evidencing his/her identity and then pay the filing fee.

The next step was to produce the technical description of the product and file the

documents with an IPSO(Intellectual Property Office Staff Office) and pay another filing

fee after that the company got the Acknowledgement Receipt after the process the

company got the Official Receipt and then waited for the release of Certification of

    Registration for five working days.

    XII. Regulations/Environmental Issues

This company should comply with the Sanitation Code of the Philippines which

includes the proper water supply for both drinking and sanitary purposes, proper

industrial hygiene for all the employees, proper sewage collection and disposal of toxic

materials from the manufacturing of the product. Aside from complying the basic law of

Philippines regarding business sanitation, this company would also follow the Code of

Business Conduct and Ethics which covers honesty of employers and employees, proper

conduct and behavior, work responsibilities, attendance and punctuality, office attire and

identification card, health benefits and safety and security. This company will always

prioritize the customer‟s satisfaction and employee‟s interest because these people are the

    XIII. Critical Risk Factors

    STRENGTHS WEAKNESS

    Few competitors Many substitute

Environmentally Friendly Might be too expensive for others

    OPPORTUNITIES THREATS

    Partnership and sponsorship that will

have an interest in our product

    Other companies might imitate

In our critical risk factor we put on strengths are few competitors because there are not

many companies selling a Solar Power Outlet companies are selling powerbanks and only

solar panels not outlets so one of our strengths is us having few competitors, another

strength is that our product is environmentally friendly being a solar power outlet it only

needs its source of energy from sunlight. In our Weaknesses we put there that there will

be many substitutes to our product like the powerbank and those charging stations in

convenience stores and we said that it will be too expensive for an outlet because of the

solar panel in it. In our opportunities we put there the possibility of sponsorship because

like we put in our strengths there are few competitors and only few companies selling

these kinds of product so there is a big possibility of our company getting a sponsorship

and company. In our threats we put there that other companies might imitate it it is a

threat because since we have few competitors other big companies imitating our product

  • 8/19/2019 Feasibility Study for Social Science

    16/18

might get bigger sales than us and more consumers will buy from them because of their

    name alone.

    XV. Conclusion and Recommendation

Our proposed business of making solar-powered outlet is a viable business

concept because, based the survey we‟ve conducted, the respondents say that they would

buy the product for portable and conventional power sources. The product is very simple

and has a lot of potential to be in demand by the consumers, and most importantly, this

     business is profitable.

Though we might need a huge capital to start the business, it would be fine

because if we can reach the target sales every month, the company will have enough

money to pay the bank loan, the business cost and still, will have a very decent amount of

profit. This could be very successful once the product had reached the market and

    grabbed people‟s attention.
