    DOCUMENTS EXECUTED BY COMPANIES.

The attention of the public is drawn to the provisions of section 69(1)(fr) of the Com-panies Ordinance (Cap. 22) which require that the Common Seal of a company registered un-der that Ordinance shall have the name of the company engraven on it in legible characters. A rubber stamp is not an engraved seal within the meaning of the Ordinance. Deeds which purport to be executed under the Common Seal by the impression of a rubber stamp wil l not therefore be accepted for registration in the Land Registries.

For the purpose of- removing any doubt, it is hereby notified for general information that the execution by companies registered under the Companies Ordinance of deeds intended for registration in the Land Registries must normally be either under the Common Seal of the company or by an attorney appointed un-der the Common Seal of the company. It is not necessary for the Common Seal of the com-pany to be affixed in the Land Registry, pro-vided the officers of the company who attest its affixing under the provisions of the Articles of Association of the company appear in the Land Registry to make the customary declara-tion.
