Alternate routes are found if the gateway is not found. CallProcessor continues to monitor the gateway.

Active calls stay live and do not get dropped. Phones switch over immediately for the next call. No loss of functionality after switchover to secondary

3Com phones work in survivability mode when there is multiple point of failure. Phones go to gateways directly if the call processors fail going into a limited support mode

15

VCX Administrator Provisioning

>Admin is presented with an aggregate view of all sites>Broadest scope of COS/TOS objects is regional

— A single COS/TOS setting can be applied across a single region, but not across regions

— Provisioning system provides a new “Apply Regionally” capability

> When invoked, all affected entities in the region are automatically updated

— HQ and branch level COS/TOS settings are still possible
