Description Education in the use of instruments for professio- nal purposes. The development of an interpreta- tive project or a detailed investigation into aspects relating to the instrument. The objective of the course is to facilitate the ac- cess to these study areas to students and profes- sionals who do not fit the profile of degree students or who have a higher level and who wish to undertake further studies, focusing on aspects related to their professional aspirations. Applicants Students or professional musicians with a proven musical education of a higher level or a professio- nal curriculum who wish to extend the range of their education. Application Requirements A higher level certificate in music is required. Ap- plicants who do not fulfil this requirement must be able to demonstrate their own level of ability and musical studies by means of corresponding certificates. A recording of at least 15 minutes duration must be presented of an interpretation by the applicant with a repertoire which includes at least two dif- ferent styles (for percussion applicants the recor- ding must be in DVD format). Teaching staff may also request an audition and/or an interview. ESMUC graduates will not be obliged to provide recordings, but must mention their status as ex- alumni in the inscription form. Characteristics, Calendar and Fees 20 hours of individual class hours, held from Oc- tober 2009 to May 2010. The class calendar is or- ganised by the lecturer in accord with the student. On finalising the course, students obtain a certifi- cate validating their participation on the course. The department concerned may offer students the opportunity to participate in combos organised by the department and the large orchestras of the ESMUC. If the student is interested, total com- mitment to participation is required (this includes class/rehearsal hours, concerts, auditions, etc.). Scores and other materials required are not in- cluded in the price of the course and will be char- ged to each student. Those students registered on this course have the right to use the school’s services as availability allows.
