SMART CARD SLOTInsert the Smart Card into the rear of the All Digital device. Use only the Smart Card that was shipped in the same carton as the All Digital Device.

Cable In RF Input(Coax Cable) Connects the All Digital Device to a TV, VCR or receiver using a coax cable.

HDMI OutHDMI Output(HDMI Cable) Connects All Digital Device to a highdefinition TV, VCR or receiver.

AV OutVideo Output(Mini-to-RCA Connectors) Video (Yellow), Right (Red) and Left (White) connect to a TV, VCR or receiver.

CH3/CH4SwitchSelects TV Channel 3 or 4 as the output channel to your TV when the All Digital Device is connected using a coax cable from TV Out.

Connect the All Digital Device to a VCR or other recording device.

Depending on the make of a recording device, there are a variety of options to connect the All Digital Device. The All Digital Device can be connected to most recording devices using coaxial cable or by connecting the Mini-to-RCA connector to the video (yellow) and stereo audio (red and white) RCA inputs.

Connect the IR Receiver cable to ensure signal reception from your Remote Control if you choose to place the All Digital Device somewhere out of direct line of sight.

Plug the IR Receiver cable into IR IN on the right side of the All Digital Device.Place the IR Receiver lens in direct line of sight where your Remote Control is used. Use the attached velcro tape to afix it in place.

NOTE: If you place the All Digital Device in direct line of sight with your Remote Control, you will not need to connect the IR Receiver cable.

Peel off bottom liners and apply velcro tape firmly to the bottom and between the feet of the All Digital Device as illustrated.

CAUTION: Do not cover or obstruct any vents on the All Digital Device.

Remove top liners and press firmly against a horizontal surface.

NOTE: If the All Digital Device is placed out of the line-of-site of your Remote Control, you will need to use the IR reciever. (p.12)

The Zap Browser is an onscreen guide for viewing and finding information about the channel lineup and current and following programs. Use the ARROW buttons on your remote control to navigate the Zap Browser.

Use the UP and DOWN ARROWS to review program information on other channels.

The Zap Browser will display logos for thechannel line-up while the bottom displays the active favorite list and the current time, day and date. Use the ARROW keys to navigate and access basic program information about the channel lineup. Use the OK/SELECT button to tune to a highlighted current program.

3.2 Favorites/Themes Select FAVORITES from the main menu.

Select a Channel Theme. Select CHANNEL THEMES to set the channel lineup. Use the UP and DOWN arrows on your remote to choose a theme. Press OK to toggle an onscreen button on or off. Press PAGE UP/DOWN (CH +/- on your remote) if there is more than one Channel Themes page. Select DONE when you have finished making your choices.

Enter your 4 digit PIN-Code to access Parental Controls using the numbers on your remote.

Use Parental Controls to do the following:• Toggle Parental Controls On or Off.• Select Block Channels to make a channel require PIN-Code entry.• Select Block Ratings to choose ratings to block.

Select DONE onscreen to save your selections.

*NOTE: If this is the first time you are accessing Parental Controls, the default PIN-Code is “1234”.

3.5 System Settings Select SYSTEM SETTINGS from the Main Menu.

Language SettingsSelect LANGUAGE SETTINGS from the System Settings Menu. Use the ARROWS on your remote to select a language setting.

Navigate to Onscreen Menu Language to select the language in which menu and system text will display.

Navigate to Preferred Audio Language to select the language that will be heard when viewing a program with multiple audio tracks.

Navigate to Preferred Subtitle Language to select the language that will be used in subtitles.

Select DONE when you have finished making your choices.

Match the format of your TV screen by selecting the correct video format. Choose either 16:9 (Widescreen TV) or 4:3 (Standard TV).

Enter your new 4 digit PIN-Code using the numbers on your remote and press OK/SELECT to enter a new PIN-Code and select ENTER onscreen.*

Enter your new 4 digit PIN-Code a second time and select ENTER onscreen.

Tuning StatusSelect TUNING STATUS from Installation menu to view tuning status details.

Reset System Select RESET SYSTEM from the Installation menu.

Enter your 4 digit PIN-Code using the numbers on your remote and press OK/SELECT to continue.

Highlight the CONFIRM button onscreen and OK/SELECT to confirm your choice to reset all settings.

4.1 Onscreen HelpAccess Help and Information for each Menu ScreenEach Menu Screen has a screen-specific help and information page.

Access this page at any time by pressing the HELP button on your remote control, or by using the arrow buttons to select HELP located at the bottom of each Menu Screen.

Select DONE onscreen to exit Help and Information and return to the Menu Screen you came from.

Use the LAST button on your remote control to return to the previous menu screen without saving changes.

TIP: Press the HELP button on your remote control to display the Help and Information for the current screen you are viewing.

Receive Channel Block and Troubleshooting Messages Onscreen Your All Digital Device can diagnose many problems that may occur with the video and audio signal, as well as the status of the Smart Card that controls your access to programming.

Each Message Screen will provide a tip on what to do in case of trouble. Also, channels or programs that are blocked display a notification message.

Messages you may receive onscreen may include the following:

4.2 Problem Solving: All Digital DeviceRepair ServiceIf you need help installing your All Digital Device, cannot solve All Digital Device problems after you have reviewed the following section, are having trouble with your connection, or have forgotten your PIN-Code, please contact your customer service representative.

Problem Possible Cause SuggestionsLED light is red. All Digital Device is not

turned on.Press the “POWER” button on the remote control to turn on the All Digital Device. Check batteries in All Digital Device remote control.

No LED light appear on the front panel display of your All Digital Device.

Your box is not plugged in properly.

Make sure the power cord is plugged in correctly and the power outlet is working properly.

Green LED light displays on the front panel of the All Digital Device, but nothing is displayed on the TV.

The All Digital Device is not hooked up properly to your television set.

Make certain your connectors/cables are connected correctly.

If your All Digital Device is connected to your TV by Coax Cables, confirm that your TV is on channel 3 or channel 4, corresponding to the switch on the back of the All Digital Device.

If your system is connected by a HDMI or mini-to-RCA cables, confirm that your TV is set to the proper input.

Problem Possible Cause SuggestionsThe All Digital Device does not respond to your Remote Control.

1. The All Digital Device is powered off.

2. Something, such as furniture, is blocking the path between the Remote Control and the All Digital Device.

3. The batteries in the Remote Control need to be replaced.

Press the POWER button on the Remote Control.

Make certain nothing is blocking line-of-sight to the All Digital Device or the IR Extension.

Make certain the AAA batteries are inserted correctly, checking the + and - positions.

Replace the batteries on your Remote Control with two new AAA batteries, properly checking the + and - positions.
