The original of the enclosed invoice was examinedby the Document Section of the FBI Laboratory and it was notedthat there were several corrections made on the document andals9~it appeared as though there were areas in which the linesand several letters had been retouched as is often the casein the production of counterfeit documents. Ihe typewriterused to prepare the document and the Correcto-type tape usedto make typewriter corrections were both available commerciallyin 1955. The FBI Laboratory wou riginal Don AllenChevrolet car invoice to ccmpar invoice to in orderto specifically state whether or no e ocument was a fraud.

On February 18, 1978,_ attende theAuction in Atlantic City, NJ, dur ng which timeregistered a 1955 Chevrolet Corvette with Kruse an representingthe car by publicly announcing that it had ori inall belongedto Elvis Presley and that he was selling sammw furtherannounced that he had the original bill of sal w resley'sname on it that was mounted on a la ue which he displayed. Thebill of sale looked authentic towand he had no reason tobelieve that the car was not one o s Presley's formerautomobiles and that he bought the car based on the Elvis Presleybill of sale.
