FBC WEEKLY An Encouraging Word
This Sunday will be an incredibly important day in the life of our church. In both morning services we will celebrate the Lord's Supper together. The scriptures remind us to approach this moment with a sense of awe as we ponder changes we might need to make as we remember the loving and sacrifi-
cial act of our Lord on the cross.
We will also celebrate in both services with our new kinder-garten and 1st grade students and their families. Cookie Greer and I will work together on a joint sermon/ children's worship experience. The students entering kindergarten and 1st grade will receive Bibles. Their families will also receive important times from our Children's Ministry. I promise you it
will be a meaningful and memorable service.
When our children "upgrade" to their new grades in Sun-day School on August 6 they will begin using a new curricu-lum which will offer families materials to use at home during the week. The Orange materials will help us merge the strengths of home and church. I believe our children and their
families will grow in grace together.
Soon a new Children's Minister will come to build on the outstanding work Robyn Wilson and Cookie have done. Da-vid Hitch is leading the search team. Other members include: Rob Emery, Bret Beach, Marcy Carrier, Andy Hatfield, Lau-ren Moyer, Tiffany Maitland and Bret Beach. Cookie and I will represent the staff in ex officio roles. I hope you will be pray-ing for this team and our on-going children's ministry as we do our best to help children love God with all their hearts, souls, minds and strengths. See you Sunday as we celebrate
together!
