    Shank /ength capacity is based on no#inal dia#eter of the bolt and its use is relevant in co#bined Tensionand Bending only, hen shear plane lies in the shank length. The Threaded length capacity is based on tensilestress area of threads and is the critical strength in direct tension and co#bined Tension and Bending henshear plane lies in the threaded length.
