Calf Rearing

The calf rearing period is the most crucial time for any livestock system. The management of the young calf will greatly determine the success of the !nished animal as they can convert weight-gain more e"ciently than an older animal.

Milk Replacer Quinns have an excellent range of both milk replacers and calf compounds to ensure maximum performance during this period. We are proud stockists of Volac, Shine and Bonanza milk replacers and also supply Provimi milk replacers direct to farm.

Calf FeedOur calf compounds are available in both coarse rations and pellet form and are formulated to the highest possible spec. Our Calf Starter Ration is extremely popular containing high levels of cereals and soya bean meal and also our Rumigain mineral package which includes Yea-sacc and protected minerals.

It is very important to feed a higher protein ration/pellet to ewes with a lambing percentage of 1.8 or higher. See the table below for our feeding recommendations for ewes carrying twins:

Our Supreme sheep feed range also includes the Rumi Sheep mineral with added Vitamin E and protected Selenium which ensures healthy and vigorous lambs at lambing time. Our sheep feed range is available in both rations and pellets in 25 Kg bags, half tonne bags and also bulk collected or delivered.
