PAUL I am not saying good-bye, see you later, or any other colloquial phrase as I go to my new appointment and as St. Paul embraces Shane and his family as your own. I say “Farewell.” Webster defines farewell as “used in parting with another or others, usually to express good wishes.” This is the word of my choosing. I will always hold you in my heart. Your prayers for me will be counted upon as I assume the responsibilities of the Columbus District. You can count upon my prayers to continue for you and your new Senior Minister, the Rev. Dr. Shane Green. It will take some getting used to not seeing you on a daily basis, but it is important for me to gracefully slip from the limelight and allow you to wholeheartedly embrace the future God is preparing for you. Shane and his staff will take you where you need to go to fulfill God’s will for St. Paul UMC. I will not continue to have the privilege of dropping everything and responding to your need. This is the privilege given to the Senior Minister of a church. My heart will be with you, but my work as a superintendent is different from that of a frontline pastor. I shall surely miss the privilege, but that privilege resides in the office of Senior Minister. My peace in taking up this new ministry is rooted in my deep belief in Shane Green’s call to love his people. You are now his people and he is your shepherd. Follow him gladly. Love him and his family, as you have loved me and my family. The best is yet to be for all who love the Lord and do His will. My prayer is that we all “fare well” in the future God is calling us to embrace for Christ’s sake. With deepest gratitude for my privilege,

    Wynnton Neighborhood Network

Your generous contributions are always appreciated, especially during summer months, as school is out and the calls are many. We are in need of canned, jarred, and boxed non-perishable food items and also brown paper bags. Donating items to this outreach ministry is just one of the ways we support our community; it makes a huge difference to those in need. Please bring all donations to the round table located at the entrance of the Fellowship Hall.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES Don’t forget to bring your used Sunday School Quarterlies and Christian publications to the Wesley Class to be recycled. The books will be donated to the Columbus Prison and we could never take too many. Teacher Editions may be included also. We invite you to participate in this ministry by simply recycling.

Wynnton Neighborhood Network Your generous contributions are always appreciated, especially during summer months, as school is out and the calls are many. We are in need of canned, jarred, and boxed non-perishable food items and also brown paper bags. Donating items to this outreach ministry is just one of the ways we support our community; it makes a huge difference to those in need. Please bring all donations to the round table located at the entrance of the Fellowship Hall.
