We attended a Territorial Gathering for the senior folk (mostly retired) of the
Salvation Army. Held at the Moree Salvation Army Complex and everyone
camped at the Gwydir Caravan Park to make full use of the hot pools.
There were over 80 attendees and once again the folk from Moree Corps
were able to cater for the needs of the group. Devotional sessions were
held each morning which involved some teaching and sharing from Matthew
28:18-20. Tuesday Mj Phillip McLaren vs 18 the Authority to ‘GO’;
Wednesday Randall and Glenda Brown vs 19 ‘GO’ make disciples;
Thursday Mj Nancy McLaren vs 20 Jesus with us always when we ‘GO’;
Lloyd had an opportunity to let the folk know how they can help themselves
and Rural Chaplains with a theme of ‘PRAY GO DO’. Great Fellowship!

Straight after lunch on Thursday at Moree we drove back to Bourke (450 km). Next morning we departed at 7am to travel 200km north on gravel road to get to the Hungerford Field Day (see story page 2). We managed a few local visits around Hungerford village and some hotel ministry (no collecting involved). Lloyd was able to help mix concrete for a local man building a new verandah. Caught up again with some of the locals - interesting characters, especially an 86 year old man with lots of memories. We called in at Ford’s Bridge on the way home to catch up with one of the locals there also.
Before heading off to Dubbo for a week of medical appointments we put together some Flyers and DVD’s for distribution at an information Day in Brewarrina (Rural Financial Counsellors etc). We supplied some ‘Show Bags’ for distribution at a Mental Health info night in Bourke (Centacare etc). We couldn’t be there to support these events but wanted to help in some way.
We only managed a couple of property visits for the month, catching up with folk doing it tough - health and financial difficulties. One of the big needs right now for the far west of north NSW is rain. A lot of our ministry at the end of the month was by phone contact just to check with folk how they are going. Two families have been involved with Court Cases, many have health issues requiring travel to larger Centres and many ask when can we visit just to chat.

Thank you to all of you who continue to prayerfully support
Rural Chaplains in NSW and Qld. Your encouragement of
our Ministry is uplifting. Verses for the month: Matthew
28:18-20. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am
with you always, to the very end of the age.’ NIV
THE MONTH IN REVIEW ……………… June 2013
Lloyd had a chance this month to have some great conversations
on spiritual matters with people and has posted out some
literature. He was asked on several different occasions about
doing funerals and weddings. Also a number of people from
isolated villages have called us or spoken to us in town regarding
friends they are concerned about (gave no details, privacy
respected - just thought we may be able to visit for a chat). We
were reminded at the Seniors Gathering of a song/scripture verse
that was part of our calling to Bourke: “Here am I Lord, send me”.

We attended the Hungerford Field Day catching up with lots of property owners from about a 300km radius plus tourists and stallholders from far and wide. We didn’t have a stall but were still able to hand out a few ‘Show Bags’ containing DVD’s, War Crys and other material. Children’s packs with Kidzones and activity sheets were well received. We had great conversations with people, making some new contacts for future property visits. We stayed in Hungerford for a few days to make a start on this.
