Q. Why does the cursor automatically close out any windows that are open?

• A. The Hot Point feature is enabled and needs to be disabled.– Move the cursor and point and click on the – Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for

Mobile icon on the Taskbar.– Click a Graphics Option.– Click HotKeys.– Click Disable.

Q. What do I do if a message that read "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed,”

appears on the logon screen?

• Contact Deb Doebler to resolve the problem. • The computer needs to be removed from the Domain, rebooted

and added back to the Domain again.

Q. What do I do if the cursor appears stuck at the top or somewhere on the screen?

• A. Move the lid of the Netbook down slightly. Leaning it back may cause the cursor to not move correctly and behave in a jumpy manner.

Q. Why do Netbook turn off when the power button is depressed?

• A. Check to be sure it was plugged in correctly.– Turn the Netbook over to see if the battery is

seated correctly. If it is not, be careful to slide the tabs into the slots and click the battery in place.

– Explain to students not to move the battery latch. This may cause the battery to fall out and possibly break.

Q. What do I do if the Windows is showing messages about non Activation?

• A. Click the prompts to activate online, click Close when the activation window is complete and Reboot. There will be a series of updates before the logon screen appears.

Q. Why does the cursor jump around when typing and land in different locations on the page?

• A. It appears the Dell Touchpad software for the Latitude 2120’s fixes this problem found on Dell’s site. It works if the Tap to Click is unchecked.

Step #1

• To access this feature after the download and installed drivers found on the link above, go to the Taskbar and click the arrow on the lower right of the Taskbar > Customize. Find Synaptics TouchPad Enhancements and use the drop down menu to Show icon and notifications.
