12 Warning By Relay Setting Import

1. Problem: when importing relay setting from a Relay Manufacturer File into IPS-ENERGY, I am getting a warning that “a “Model” is not contained in list of supported models (patterns).” or a logfile with some statistics”. What is it all about? Warning:

2. Causes

Warning: IPS Relay Models (Patterns) are developped with Relay Setting Files from Relay Manufacturer. Those files contain Manufacturer Keywords in order to identify Models & Versions. Those keywords – so-called RMI & RVI – are then mapped to IPS Relay Patterns when found compatible. A Warning indicates only that the above mapping is not (yet) realized at IPS but it does not mean (necessary) that the Relay Setting File is not full compatible with current used Relay Pattern.

Logfile with Statistics: a Logfile with Import Statistics is always displayed giving you comparison data about how many parameter (values) were actually found in Relay Setting File compared to the Relay Parameter Pattern used.

3. Solution & recommendations in case of warning

Run Comparison between Relay Pattern and Relay Setting File

o If comparison result, shows you that all parameter addresses were found in database (I.e. Relay Pattern) (see picture below), then the warning can be acknowledge and further work is possible.

o If comparison result shows that some addresses were NOT found in database (Relay Pattern), then a closer look is necessary

Contact IPS GmbH and provide the Relay Setting File used. This is the only way for IPS to know about your problem, investigate the file contents, and adapt the mapping RMI/RVI if necessary. This mapping is regularly updated at IPS and made available to customers in form of IPS Master Data Packages (Data script to be executed only once on central (Server) database)
