Based on the voyage of a Flu Cell

  • 1SCENE - 1 - FLOATING CELL FACTORIES

    ACT - 1

Several "Cell" factories float up and down, they are all in working order, nothing is out of the ordinary. These factories consist of a small grey building with a large chimney, several windows and two slanted rectangular masses of brown roof tiles. Several large pipes exist on the exterior than descend deep into the space beneath the factories.

A spherical, red, robotic organism slowly descends in front of the doors of one of the factories.

It hovers for a moment and then opens up to reveal some kind of appendage that moves out from its interior, on the end of this appendage is a object that looks like a pen-knife that interacts with the door. The organism then moves through the door into the factory.

    SCENE - 2 - INSIDE THE FACTORY

    ACT - 2

The red organism now has access to the factory, it first approaches the nucleus of the factory (Which is in the shape of a large battery with wire coiling around it).

The organism once again extends its appendage and interacts with the battery nucleus. After doing this it retracts its appendage and moves on.

    ACT - 3

The cell hovers upwards and locates the Golgi apparatus, the apparatus looks like a large cluster of pinkish pipes with diagonal and horizontal holes at their top ends.

The organism again extends its pen-knife appendage and interacts with the Control panel on the Golgi apparatus.

The Golgi apparatus begins to churn and produce more of the pen-knife like appendages from its holes.

  • 2ACT - 4

The cell moves onward and descends downward to the Ribosome processing station and produces its pen-knife appendage, it once it interacts and spurns the Ribosome machine into life.

The Ribosome station has a conveyor belt with a mass of large blue pipes at its back-end.

These pipes begin to produce red sacks that have the initials "RNA" on them. A lot of these sacks are produced.

    ACT - 5

The red cell hovers back to the nucleus at which point it hovers in front of it for a few seconds, it then turns away.

Something begins to emerge from the battery nucleus, a new red organism begins to emerge, it comes into full size and then hovers towards the Ribosomes.

The newly formed cell moves over the Ribosomes and takes one of the RNA sacks that has been produced.

    SCENE - 3 - FLOATING CELL FACTORIES

    ACT - 6

The new flu cell emerges from the factory door, it stays put and hovers.

Suddenly the pen-knife like appendages produced by the Golgi apparatus begin to fall from the windows of the factory, several bounce off of the shell of the flu cell.

The flu cell captures one of the appendages and integrates it into its body by opening a small hatch on its interior body and dragging the appendage inside.

The cell closes up and hovers away from the factory in search of fresh prey.

  • 3ACT - 7

The process of the new cells being made continues to occur in the factories, more and more of these new cells emerge from the factory door taking the pen-knife appendages that continue to overflow from the windows.

Slowly the factory begins to degrade; the chimney begins to collapse, the roof tiles begin to fall off and the colour of the factory changes from a cool grey to light red and then to a deep red. The pipes on the side of the factory all eventually begin to fall off.

After a short while the factory is reduced to a pile of red rubble, no more cells are produced, the factory is dead.
