D20 Fantasy:A Freeform d20 Game.Concept: D20 Fantasy is my attempt at creating a class-less, level-less d20 fantasy game. Removing classes from the mix in a d20 system is not a new concept, which gives me a multitude of resources to pull from while I am making this system. I hope to give you a rules-lite game that keeps your options as close to unlimited as possible. I intend to pull from the game system Mutants and Masterminds, Pathfinder, and Dungeons & Dragons, and World of Darkness, without compromising the Open Gaming License. So, how will I do it? There are so many different ways, what would be best? Well, I intend to divide things into a logical order, as follows:

Chapter 1:Abilities & AspectsChapter 2:Advantages Chapter 3:SkillsChapter 4:FeatsChapter 5:Powers & Effects

Abilities:There will be three facets of each of the three parts that makes a person, as shown here: This has been blatantly adapted from White Wolfs World of Darkness system, because it is the best example of how to govern abilities that I have ever seen.

FacetPhysicalMentalSocial

PowerStrengthIntelligencePresence

FinesseDexterityWitsManipulation

ResistanceStaminaResolveComposure

AdvantagesCovering Base Attack and Defense bonuses, Hit Points, Saves, and Level, Advantages are the bread and butter of adventuring.Skills:Where Abilities represent the attributes that are innate to a person, such as their intellect, their hand-eye coordination, and their personality, Skills represent learned capabilities and well, as the name would suggest skills. Skills are split into the same three distinct groups as Abilities (Physical, Mental, and Social).

FeatsAbove and beyond skills or abilities, Feats give player characters a mechanical edge on the competition, helping to define and specialize their focus, or to broaden it and give them a more versatile skillset. Feats are generally pulled from 3.5.

Powers & Effects: If youve played mutants and masterminds, you should understand what this section is about; all those things that couldnt be covered in a feat can be covered by powers: effects grouped together to create an ability that cannot be explained by ether of the last two previous sections
