book?

2. The Gumshoe, Lincoln High’s literary magazine, was recently resurrected after budget cuts. Has your school ever gone through similar issues that a�ected the arts?

3. Both Jamie and Eden are gay but their families have had di�erent reactions. Have you ever experienced or had a friend go through a similar situation with his or her family?

4. The poems and artwork in many chapters depict di�erent characters’ feelings and experiences in ways they can’t express in real life. How did this influence your understanding of the characters? Cite examples.

5. The GSA, or Gay -Straight Alliance, is mentioned throughout Fan Art. Does your high school have a GSA or a similar group? How is your school similar to Lincoln High? How is it di�erent?

6. How does the friendship between Jamie and Mason change throughout the story? What are the pivotal moments in their relationship?

7. Jamie is considered somewhat popular at school and voted “Most Likely to Have the Most Facebook Friends,” but feels he doesn’t fit in. Why do you think Jamie feels this way?

8. Do you think Jamie should have asked Mason to prom instead of Eden? Was it better for Jamie and Eden to go as a straight couple even though they are both gay? Why or why not?
