On March 27, 2011 the F&AM/
OES, PHA, Jurisdiction of Indi-
ana’s Inaugural PHAmily &
Friends cruise set sail aboard
the Royal Caribbean, Liberty of
the Seas ship from the Port of
Miami Florida for 6 nights of sun
and fun, white sand beaches,
crystal clear waters, 4 star (all
you can eat) dining, and fabulous ports of call in the Western
Caribbean! This cruise was
sponsored by Central Lodge #1
& Purity Chapter #51, and had
representatives from Central
Lodge #1, Southern Cross
Lodge #39, C.R. Richardson
Lodge #69, Union Chapter #1,
and Purity Chapter #51.
The first fabulous port of call
was Belize City! The island was
gorgeous, and the shopping was
plentiful! Of course while there
the brothers let their light shine,
and was fortunate enough to
meet some Belize Masons from
Steadfast Masonic Lodge #683,
and shared in some interesting
Masonic intercourse!
Next it was off to the lovely
island of Costa Maya...a small
island just filled with beauty and
hidden treasures! There, our
island hoppers found tours of
this island, jet skis, ATV &
horseback riding along the
beach, and a nice swim up bar
with great music & island cock-
tails!
The final port of call was Co-
zumel...and it was last for a rea-
son! Cozumel is stunning, the
shopping is unbelievable, with
deals on everything from dia-
monds & gold, & Movado
watches to T-shirts & pottery,
and it also boasts a Champion-
ship golf course!
Next year we start taking de-
posits for our “2013” cruise, so
stay tuned for more informa-
tion! You don’t want to miss
the 2nd Biennial PHAmily &
Friends Cruise! Don’t get left
behind to hear about all the
fun!!

Inside Central Lodge—What’s on the Trestle Board? By David M. Bryant
Central is primed and ready to
do some pretty amazing things
this quarter. Our Trestle Board
is full, and the Master builder is
busy. Not only will we have
raised five new Master Masons
prior to Grand Lodge, com-
pleted and distributed our di-
rectory and first newsletter, but
we are re-vamping our website and have created a Central
Lodge #1 group on Facebook.
One of our new Bros. (Sanchez)
has designed an Indiana PHA
License Plate in which a petition
is moving through the jurisdic-
tion to obtain the 500 signa-
tures needed to put it into pro-
duction. Please seek out and
sign the petition! A Central
Lodge #1 customized ring has
continued on page 2.

Richard Morris is a Mason, a
musician, and a member of
Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. His
musical roots span decades,
going back to his youth where
he fell in love with the Bass
guitar and started his first band
at age 15. While in college at
ISU, Morris’ received his first
calling from the G.A.O.T.U. by way of Alpha Phi Alpha frater-
nity…when asked about his
road to Masonry, Morris stated
“I believe that Alpha Phi Alpha
is symbolic of the door that
opened leading to Masonry.”
Being an Alpha led Morris to
study ancient Egypt, Africa and
the Nile Valley where he began
to learn of the symbolism asso-
ciated with Masonry, and his
thirst for knowledge began. He received his Master Mason
degree on May 23, 2009, a day
he describes as very special,
and surreal…one that left him
in an indescribable state of
mind for several days after is
raising. Today, you can find Morris
utilizing a different degree…his
Master’s Degree in Mathemat-
ics and Computer Science in
his career as a software devel-
oper at the University of Indi-
anapolis. Morris was raised by God fear-
ing parents that insisted he
remain active; hence, when not
on the job you may find him on
the baseball diamond, in his
church, or stroking the Bass in
his current band “Ground
Zero.” His loves are God,
family, God’s gift of music,
sports, and his fraternities. If
you need a good Jazz/R&B
band...Brother Morris and
“Ground Zero” is your obvious
choice...check your Lodge di-
rectory for his contact info!
Banquet that will be held in
September! Tentatively the

Landers, Sr. and Past Mas-

insight and leadership is to be
been designed, 15 bros. have

THE LANDMARKS OF FREE-
MASONRY
The Landmarks of Freemasonry
are an essential part of our
organization which should be
discussed and passed out to
every member of this organiza-
tion. Albert Mackey writes,
“the Landmarks of Freema-sonry are unwritten laws that
form the basis of every Grand
and subordinate Lodge Consti-
tution.”
The Landmarks are the founda-
tion on which Freemasonry
stands. Every Grand Lodge
adopts all or a portion of the
Landmarks listed below. An
extensive discussion of these
Masonic principles can be
found in “Jurisprudence of Free-
masonry” by Albert Mackey.
The unwritten laws cover dif-
ferent areas of Freemasonry
from the modes of recognition to the legend of the third de-
gree to the prerogative of the
Grand Masters and so on.
We at Central Lodge will be
given an opportunity to discuss
these principles of Freema-
sonry so that our members will
have a better understanding of
how these unwritten laws af-
fect our lodge and Freema-
sonry in general.

new friendships, change your
way of thinking, and include
your family, in aspects of your
life that did not previously ex-

sibility to help lead you to what
you do not know, regarding Freemasonry. However,
change, motivation and com-
mitment are your sole respon-
sibilities. Without the willing-

Step Outside Your Com-
fort Zone
Men come to Freemasonry of
their own free will and accord.
Their true reason of joining
our age old institution, is often
only known to them. The first
reality to the newly inducted
should be the requirement to step outside his life long com-
fort zone. This is a must, in
order to be successful and
comfortable in Masonry. Ma-
sonry will require you to com-
learn, and commitment to your
own decision, success in Free-
masonry will always and for-
ever remain, elusive. Take due
notice thereof and govern
yourself accordingly.
