The areas in Northern JutlandThe Northern Jutland is in the northern part of Denmark, which has some of the biggest nature areas in entire Denmark. We’ve got a great amount of forests, lots of hikes, beaches, meadows and lakes. The land in Northern Jutland has a lot of farming. Of course with the nature areas included. The biggest city in northern Jutland, is Aalborg with 104.885 inhabitants. We are very proud of our part of Denmark.

Skagen

Skagen is a town with a population on 8,347 citizens. Skagen is placed in northern Jutland on the most northern spot of Vendsyssel-Thy a part of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark

Why many tourist visits Skagen? Skagen is the most northern city of Denmark. North for Skagen,

Denmark’s most northern spot is, Grenen, where the 2 oceans Kattegat and Skagerrak meets each other.

Some things you have to see in Skagen as a tourist is - The sand-covered church, Denmark’s second highest lighthouse - The grey lighthouse. Then you have to see a Skagen house, it’s an old yellow house, with white edges on the roofing tiles. And Skagen is famous for all the famous Skagen painters, so you could go to museums in Skagen to watch some beautiful paintings. Then maybe go for a walk and enjoy the fantastic nature around Skagen, and watch a lot of birds, which Skagen also is famous for.

And that’s why many rich people visit Skagen.

Grenen

Grenen is the most northern point of Denmark. Grenen is created by sand transported north along the entire westcoast of Jutland. Grenen is growing towards Sweden by 10 meters every year. Grenen is the meeting point for the 2 seas Skagerrak and Kattegat. The waves come from both sides on Grenen because each side of Grenen has its own sea. That also creates a violent current, and that’s why its forbidden to swim there, but you can still paddle, and try to have a foot in each sea.

Aalborg Zoo

Aalborg zoo is a big park where they have 138 different animal races, Tiger Lions, monkeys, and much more than that. Aalborg zoo was founded in 1935. The zoo is in the center of Aalborg. There are many tourists who come to see the many beautiful animals. We have animals from almost all over the world. There is one great restaurant and then there are maybe 8 small shops where you can buy everything from teddy bears to candy or popcorn.

There are also some small parks which is for younger children where there are rabbits, goats and hamsters, etc.

The only animals they don’t have is fish.

Fårup Sommerland

Fårup Sommerland is an amusement park in north Jutland, and it opened in 1975. Fårup Sommerland is the 3rd biggest amusement park in the world, and it is the best park in Northern. There is a lot of amusement, eating places and an aqua park, too. There are some little shops, where you can buy candy, ice-creams and souvenirs.

Utzon Center

The Utzon Center is a culture center in Aalborg, and it opened in May 2008. The architect is the known man Jørn Utzon, who is known for the Opera House in Sydney. He has drawn the building, which is one of the most known buildings in the world. In the Utzon Center, there is a lot of art, shows, meetings, conferences, designs and a little restaurant.
