90% of donations are used for direct program needs. You can

laundry soap, trash bags, baby diapers, family size hygiene items,
gasoline gift cards for family use, paper towels, and dish soap.

!How Family Promise Works !Host Congregations About four
)mes a year – for a week
at a )me-‐ each host
congrega)on provides a place to
sleep, meals (supper, breakfast and
bag lunch) and hospitality for
up to four families at a
)me. Families are hosted from
dinner )me to the next morning.
Housing Programs Family Promise administers a
variety of housing projects for
homeless parents with minor children.
Our HUD sponsored program is
for parents with disabili)es; our
other housing programs assist
homeless families to get into
housing they can afford. To

Guests Since Family Promise is primarily
comprised of volunteers, only guest
families without ac)ve substance
abuse, domes)c violence, or severe
mental illness are accepted. Many
guests are employed during the
day and go to work. During
the school year, children aSend
school.
Day Center
The Day Center is the hub.
Guests are brought from the
hos)ng congrega)ons to the Day
Center from 7 am to 5 pm,
their day)me home base. Here,
homeless families work one-‐on-‐one
with a professional case manager
to look for employment and
housing and address problems that
stand in the way of permanent
independent housing for these
families. The Day Center also
provides families a mailing address,
a place to shower, and a
place to do laundry.
