    Family Interview as Podcast

Your group will be assigned either a family or an area on the periodic table. You will research all theelements in your family or area in general, and then get specifics for at least one element per groupmember(see element report sheet). Your group will script an interview of the family and record it asa podcast. The purpose is to learn about the periodic table of elements in a fun, new way. Hopefullywe can post these on the Internet to share.

The points earned will be converted to a percentage based on the points earned versus pointspossible. The percentage grade will be counted as a test grade.

You can record using OneNote (the file is automatically an mp3 file), or you can download Audacity(see below), which is much more powerful but a pain to convert to mp3.

    Setting up for a Podcast:

    - Go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows and download Audacity to yourcomputer. You can also download lame which allows conversion to mp3.

    - Start Audacity (look under All Programs on Start Menu)- Select the Green button to record. You can cut and splice, so dont write back over your

recordings- Make sure your final podcast is somewhere around two minutes

I hope to be able to have these hosted on the Web, but Im not sure how yet. Stay tuned!
