God gives us the things we need— He has the power to provide! Today we enjoyed God’s gift of “melted snow!” We talked about waiting patiently for things we want or need. We also talked about tears when sometimes we can be sad, but that God also provides sweet treats that make us happy! We can learn how to hold on and wait patiently for God. This year our Mis-

sion Collection

from VBS will go

to support the Lu-

theran Church

Charities Mission

Dogs.

Lutheran Church Charities’ K-9

Comfort Dog Ministry is a national

ministry utilizing the unique skills of

dogs, specifically Golden Retriev-

ers, to open opportunities to touch

people with Mercy and Compas-

sion of Christ. Our dogs are trained

service animals prepared to inter-

act with people in ways that provide

a bridge for compassionate ministry

to take place.

Lutheran Church Charities’ K-9

Comfort Dog Ministry works to

place K-9’s in Christian churches

and schools as an outreach tool.

There is a chapter right here in

northern Illinois, sponsored by St.

John in Burlington!

You may recall the k-9 Comfort

Dogs spent some time in DeKalb

during the period following the cri-

sis on campus in February 2008!

For more information on this minis-

try you can check the website at

http://lutheranchurchcharities.org or

visit the dogs on their Facebook

pages!

You and your family are cordially invited to attend

Hold on! Is the game we played today, the object is to have

teams, with one team being it. As the team that’s it tags oth-

ers they form one continuous strong rope becoming one rope

together. The game teaches, teamwork cooperation and tests

our strength to remain together as one where we find comfort

in each other.

KidVid Cinema

Today’s treat was an awesome reminder that God has the

power to comfort. We talked about how God’s comfort

is soft and gentle, and even sweet— like our marshmal-

lows and chocolate. God’s love is also mighty and

strong. Our graham crackers reminded us of strong

things, like boulders and rocks.

Today we enjoyed s’mores, mountain top peaks and gla-

cier aide!

Serving and doing kind things for each other is a great

way to comfort. Another reminder of the importance of

ministries like the K-9 Comfort Dogs!

Mountain Top Treats

Bubble Booster- Today we’re learning about comfort. God

and His Bible comfort us. He also gives us soft things,

friends, and smiles to bring us comfort. Our soft ropes of

bubbles shared with friends certainly brought smiles today.

Imagination Station

Today we continued to follow

Elijah on his journeys. Even

when scary stuff happens, Elijah heard God speak to him in

a whisper. God has the power to Comfort!
