We were visiting my parents’ house last weekend when I casually mentioned to everyone that we would be taking a trip to Bass Pro Shops in a few days to pick up a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun. The girls all squealed and my dad excitedly informed me that he had THRee of them out in the garage.

I really appreciate this list of shooting safety rules on the Daisy website. The fun thing about these Daisy guns is their enduring (and endearing) reputation. When we got home, the girls finished their school work and then we got busy figuring out our new gun. The box came with a fun little nostalgic tin of BBs – pretty cute!

All in all, a super fun time with many more to come! Here’s hoping that the Daisy Red Ryder BB Guns will provide as much family fun and enjoyment in another 30 years just as they did for my family this week!

When I was given the chance to try out the Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun, I was seriously over the moon. I envisioned myself in my backyard, having a show down with Black Bart, and saving everyone from a robbery!

We really had fun with our new BB gun. As a mom, I am fine with my daughter learning how to use the Red Ryder with proper safety advice and proper adult supervision. I think that teaching gun safety is very important.

I am happy to teach my kids not to fear guns. I’m glad that Daisy outdoor products will be a part of our family fun time. I’m sure that when the boys are old enough, they will enjoy the Red Ryder BB Gun.

my son is very involved in Boy Scouts, and has done some shooting at Boy Scout camp, so this fall my husband decided to do some target shooting with him in the backyard.

Obviously we needed a BB gun, and what better one than the classic Daisy BB Gun, the one that was a key feature of the movie A Christmas Story! We also realized our daughter should learn to shoot. She wasn’t instantly thrilled by the idea, but knowing how to handle a gun is a life skill that everyone, male or female, should have.

Target shooting is a fun family activity, and my kids are already planning their next shooting session and discussing other targets they can get. my daughter has turned out to be just as enthusiastic about shooting as my son is which is kind of amusing because she didn’t think she would like it when we first suggested it!

I must have been in the 6th grade or so when I received my first BB gun. Down the hill from our house was a small river. That’s where I set up shop.

like any river there were many great targets to shoot. And by targets, I mean living things–bugs, snakes, frogs, you name it, they were fair game. Perched high above the water, like a deer hunter in his stand, I had the perfect location to rain down terror on the animals below.

Today I’m a (somewhat) more responsible adult with two daughters. When I think of something of the quality and safety that I demand for my girls, Daisy is the only brand that comes to mind. Any company that has been around for over 125 years must be doing something right. I went through their website, narrowed down my choices among the hundreds of Daisy Outdoor Products and then headed over to Amazon.com. There I found the perfect model - a pink Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun!

I have to say I was very pleased with the ease of use of this gun (even if it was a little hard for her to cock the weapon). A nice feature that my old one never had was the ability to see your ammo through a little window to confirm it was loaded and ready to fire. What does mom think of her little girl firing her first gun?

Living in rural Vermont, guns and BB guns are a regular part of everyday life; and in our family so are gun safety tips.

Of course, the first image that comes to mind when I think of a BB gun is a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun! That’s a name that has been around for years and to me that means quality. We decided to purchase one for our son, David.

Once we reviewed important safety rules with David, wet set up a target and he enjoyed shooting at it. I was really quite surprised to see how good his aim was. He hit the target right on with almost every shot. I like that this is something he can now discuss with my husband and his Grandfather. It’s sort of a rite of passage to have your first gun when you grow up and I’m really glad this is something that we got to experience with David and Daisy Outdoor Products.

I researched online and had the kids read pamphlets and articles before they were allowed to touch their new Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun.

I also purchased safety glasses and didn’t allow the nine year old to handle the gun, much to his disappointment and the teenager’s glee.

Thankfully, it appears my son inherited his father’s shooting ability. He hit the target on the very first shot and kept hitting the target over and over. “How are you doing that?” I mumbled. This was countered by his comment, “Are you even aiming at the target, mom?”

I may never be a crack shot but I’ve found an outdoor activity my son enjoys and causes him to want to spend time outside. That’s all the success I need!

Because my kids are master snoops who sniff out every single Christmas present in our house I needed to make sure it was well covered to avoid discovery.

A family tradition that pre-dates either of my children, we watch A Christmas Story every single year. In fact, I can remember my older brother with his imaginary Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun when we were little, pretending to shoot at targets. And since J-man turned 10 earlier this year and is officially at the age that we deem mature enough for a BB gun, an idea had started to form in my head. But I still needed to know a little more. So I headed over and checked out the Daisy Safety Rules. With tips like only load or cock a gun when you are shooting and guns not in use should always be unloaded, it was a list of gun safety items that any parent needs to know before considering the purchase of a BB gun for their child.

With their long history of producing quality air guns and their dedication to making sure you know what product is right for your child and how to keep them safe while enjoying their gun, they were really the only choice that made sense to me when it came to purchasing a BB gun for J-man!

Daisy has been the most recognized brand of air gun since 1886. And of course everyone knows that the Red Ryder has been around since 1938. If you didn’t have a Daisy BB Gun growing up I would bet at least one of your friends did! Daisy is the brand that taught America to shoot!

Daisy Red Ryder BB Guns make a great gift for the kiddos over ten years old on your list. Of course if you’re like me you like your gifts awesome but pink. OK, so the Pink Carbine is not an official Red Ryder, but it’s still from Daisy, and it’s still awesome. I know a special girl who is going to love it when she gets it for Christmas. Actually, I would love it!

The Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun has been on my youngest son’s wish list for years.

The recommended minimum age for this is 10 years. my wife and I agreed that at that age he would be old enough to fully understand the gun safety rules and that’s what we told him all those years ago.

I am so excited that Dylan will finally be getting his very own Daisy Red Ryder for Christmas. He will be thrilled to finally be able to go shooting with his older brother. I may even have to go shopping again and buy one for myself so I can join in the fun! Big kids with gray hair like Daisy Outdoor Products just as much as other kids!

Could there be a better gift for an outdoors loving teenage girl than a pink Daisy BB Gun?

When I was asked who in my life would appreciate a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas, I immediately thought of my step-daughter. In addition to loving the outdoors, her favorite Christmas movie is all about the Red Ryder BB Gun. A Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun is just the kind of unique gift I wanted for our very first teenager.

Could there be a better gift for an outdoors loving teenage girl than a pink Daisy BB Gun?! But we couldn’t just get the gun. There are safety guidelines to follow so you don’t, you know, shoot your eye out. We did get my step-daughter some safety goggles, just in case!

Giving a fully loaded shotgun to an eight year old boy was probably not a good idea. But that’s exactly what my grandfather did.

He lined up some tin cans (yes, they were actually made of tin) in the back of his farm, handed me his double-barrel shotgun, and told me to shoot them down. The gun was heavy and I could barely raise it to eye-level. I struggled to aim the gun because my hands were shaking.

A few years later, I was surprised to find a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun underneath the Christmas tree.

“Wow!” I said. “Thanks mom.”

my grandfather was a hunter. He hunted out of necessity because it was the only way he could feed his family. He believed that every boy should have basic gun handling skills. Although I disagreed with his method of teaching, I can understand his point-of-view.

The start of the holiday shopping…yep that’s right, it has begun and in all true honesty…I am more ready this year than I have been in the past! WOOHOO! And it only helps this year that the kids have actually told me what they want ahead of time…no guessing required! The number one thing on the list is a Daisy Red Ryder Carbine BB Gun. I can handle that!

With proper safety training from the hubby, I think we will be in good shape this holiday season.

The Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun is quite possibly the mother of all Christmas gifts.

While I did not receive one as a holiday gift, I did have a BB gun when I was child.

Nostalgia washed over me when I was offered the opportunity to purchase a Red Ryder BB Gun and host a giveaway for y’all. memories of walking through the woods with a BB gun grasped in one hand as I followed the bobbing head of my older cousin blazing the trail in front of me as we “hunted”.

While I don’t have a child that meets the Daisy Outdoor Products age requirements, we do have someone that loves BB guns. David’s uncle has some developmental delays that have kept him locked at a pre-teen to early teen level. He will be very excited to open this gift on Christmas eve.

Some part of me always wanted to get my son the Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun. maybe it was something about where I come from. The memories of watching the boys standing outside with their BB guns like little tribesmen and standing around the older men who had brought a deer back from hunting to hang up on the tree outside my window are powerful.

my son never had moments like this and since there are only few of his years left before he becomes an adult, I wanted to give him something from my past before he was making his future. maybe some deeper part of him resonated in those elements of where we come from; perhaps in his bones he knew he was one of those boys dancing around the tree - Red Ryder held high.

He may be growing older and I may only have a few years of his ‘childhood’ left before he’s off finding a college, girlfriends, jobs and apartments, but at least in these few years that are left I can give him something he’s always wanted - a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun.

When I shop for Christmas gifts for younger members of the family, I find myself drawn to the same classic toys that I myself played with as a child. I think back to the excitement I felt when receiving them and hope to pass that joy on. And this week, I had the opportunity to do just that when I picked up a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun for my husband’s teenage cousin.

In addition to the Red Ryder Gun, we also bought a package of BBs and a pair of safety glasses. Remember how Ralphie’s mother didn’t want him to have a BB gun because “you’ll shoot your eye out?” I bet she would have felt much better if she’d had these glasses! Safety is always a concern for me, and Jai and I discussed his experiences as a boy using a BB gun and thought about safety gear before purchasing. I also had a look at Ten Shooting Safety Rules from the Daisy website, which is important information for everyone in the family. I would highly recommend printing this page and tucking it into the box before wrapping!

I am a Midwestern girl. I grew up around hunting, fishing, etc… Those Outdoor Family Activities are what helped bond our family.

Our 8 year old Dylan ReAlly wants a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun. However, he’s just not quite ready. He reminds me he only has two years to wait. I do admire his patience.

What I do know is that Daisy is a brand that we trust! It’s a brand I have grown up around from Daisy Red Ryder BB Guns to targets. We plan to continue encouraging Outdoor Family Activities such as BB guns so we are getting a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun for our nephew.

When my son first asked for a BB gun earlier this year I said “NO WAy.” All I could think of was him shooting well, not his own eye out, but his brother’s eye or any other body part he may hit. The truth is that I was afraid. I now realize that it was an irrational fear.

I was so excited when I got the chance to work with Daisy Outdoor Products because I knew I would have a chance to teach my children about gun safety from an early age, and be the most awesome mom ever (hey, I have my priorities people).

mr. Sweet Phenomena recently mentioned that he wanted a new BB gun.

Immediately I thought to myself: “Oh man, how awesome would it be to surprise him with one?!”

One of the first things that struck me about the Daisy brand versus any other air pistol brand at the store was how professional everything looked. The packaging was sturdy and clean looking and it didn’t look like it was being marketing to a prepubescent boy.

Not only is this something that he’ll enjoy and be able to make great use of, but it’s something that he can share with Babydoll. He can teach her all about gun safety, how guns work, and best-practices {for lack of a better term}. I’m thrilled that it’s something they can share for years to come.
