Scrumptious Pumpkin Children’s Cookery School -

My two youngest children aged 7 & 10 tried out these classes. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves, learned loads and gained (even more!) confidence in the kitchen. The food they made was so yummy that my husband and I ate it for dinner. You can’t go wrong!

I took my 3 children (7, 10 & 12) along with a friend (12) and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and all of them gained a real appreciation of biology. It was like something from Doctor Who! My 12 year old commented “It’s futuristic and entertaining, yet educational”.

Green drops & moonsquirters at Discover Children’s Story Centre, Stratford The new hands-on exhibition at Discover certainly brings Lauren Child’s characters to life. Charlie and Lola, Clarice Bean, That Pesky Rat, and Hubert Horatio Bartie Bobton-Trent - pick your favourite. Dress the life size Charlie and Lola in their magnetic clothes, explore their kitchen; try on Lola’s crocodile costume or Charlie’s T-shirt. You can sit at the desk from Hubert Haratio or in the bedroom from Clarice Bean or put on a puppet show at the Princess and the Pea’s four-poster bed. Try the Arts and Crafts area and make Pesky Rat a new home or a plate of food for Lola.

My daughter and I spent a happy time playing and exploring - we did not want to leave! But we did find time to see Hooter and the other play areas too.

Discover is an excellent centre for young children and

an easy ten minute walk from Stratford station.The shop has a good selection of Lauren Child merchandise next to a lovely café. Would you like a cup of tea? Yes please! And more pink milk for my tiger too!
