Last time I wrote, one of my prayer requests was “for wisdom as we discern how to continue to connect with these youth and build on the newfound relationships that camp provided.” Since then, God has blessed us with opportunities to connect with many of our campers from the summer. Some of our campers have joined us on our monthly outings to the indoor bike park Joyride 150. Some have eagerly been asking when our next Earn-a-Bike cohort will be. Some have started to attend Spring Garden’s youth group. One of the youth has even started to attend Sunday school at Spring Garden. Out of the blue one Sunday morning, this youth showed up and he’s been coming out on a regular basis ever since! Thank you for your prayers! One of our young leaders, Jolene, was interviewed on the show Context. When you have a momment, check the video out at http://www.contextwithlornadueck.com/episodes/generation-z. Jolene’s segment appears at the 18:40 mark. It’s a great chance to gain some insight into what’s been dubbed, “Generation Z”. Stemming from a hunger to strengthen their relationship with God, I’ve been meeting with three of our youth for discipleship. Though the youth have been very keen on meeting up, I have found it challenging. Finding spiritual disciplines that they find engaging has not been easy. Please pray for this group as we contiune to meet and learn together. Earlier this month we took possession of 40 used bikes donated to us from a local apartment complex. These unclaimed and abandoned bikes will make up a core set of bikes to fix, learn mechanics and eventu- ally earn for our upcoming Earn-a-Bike cohort. We’re in the midst of modifying the Earn-a-Bike program to make it more sustainable and hope to have one underway sometime in February/March. Please keep this upcoming cohort in your prayers! Thank you again for partnering with me in ministry at Youth Unlimited. Koon and I cherish your friendship and support.
