  • Metal Movement

    B O W A N D A R R O W

    Role of the exercise: This exercise stretches the pectorals and the forearm

    muscles, in addition to mobilizing the median nerve. As it relates to the meridians

    and organs, this CK exercise is for the lungs and large intestine.

    Precaution: Do not over stretch. If you have limited shoulder range and

    extension of your arms, do not try to raise your elbow as high as your shoulder

    and extend your arm out to the side of your body. Follow the modification

    below.

    Modification: If you have limited shoulder range and extension of your arms,

    lift the elbow in front of the body and to a lesser degree as you extend your

    other arm out in front of the body to your potential.

  • Lifting Arms / Bending / Rotating

    Lift the arms parallel to the ears with fingers pointing up (breathe in)

    Turn the waist right

    With arms still extended, bend body until fingers point to the floor (exhale)

    Rotate from the right side to front to left side (counter clockwise)

    Straighten up until body is upright, arms straight, with fingers pointing upward (still facing left). (breathe in)

    Turn forward.

    Repeat turning left this time, bending and rotating clockwise to the right.

    Overlap your hands of the tan tien and gently press (inhale)

    Bend forward and exhale while drawing in your abdomen

    Straighten and take 3 natural breaths

    Extend your arms out to the sides, palms facing forward

    Pull back your shoulders and take a deep breath in

    Relax your arms and hands back to the starting position as you exhale through the mouth releasing impurities from the lungs (song)

    Re-aligning Stand or sit with your feet comfortably apart

    Reacquaint yourself with your alignment by finding a centered and balanced way to stand or sit.

    Mentally move deeper into your core. Reach towards your authentic self and find your breath. Let go into the moment.

    When you inhale take in the nourishment; when you exhale release what no longer serves you.

    Inhale through nose (slightly rock back) exhale through mouth as if you are blowing through a straw (slightly rock forward).

    Place hands palms together at CV17 and breathe calm and peace into the heart.
