Elementary Production Classes $160Designed to teach basic acting skills to beginners, this class culminates in a short production. The final production integrates performance skills the children develop through weeks of practice and training in a supportive class environment. With one-on-one direction and careful teaching, children learn the essentials of stage presence, speech, and movement. These skills can be used both in the production and in everyday life, as students build confidence and the ability to speak and present in large and small groups.

Intro to Tech Theatre $160Students enrolled in this class will learn first-hand both the creative and technical side to lights, sound and scenic design from experts in the field. After successful completion of this class, students may be considered for opportunities to use their technical theatre skills running lights and sound for upcoming PCT/NTPA productions.

Plano Rock Stars $175 + private lessonsRock Stars is a unique opportunity for students to learn how to play a musical instrument and play in a rock band. Students learn the fundamentals of music and how to work together as a group. They will explore the major rock instruments of keyboard, drums, bass, guitar, auxiliary percussion, and vocals, and will be assigned one of these based on their interest and ability. Students will rehearse both as a group during a weekly class and individually during a weekly private lesson.

Acting with an Accent $160One of the greatest tools an actor has is her or his voice. The voice can help the actor establish the age, location and social class of any character and can help the audience relate to the storyline better. This class examines the use of the voice as the actor’s tool, teaching the actors first how to harness their own vocal power and then to use it to create vocal pattens that can reflect a huge range of ages and locations. Led by an experienced Hollywood acting coach, this class will explore a variety of both American regional as well as international accents.

Audition Prep $160The workshop will provide a great learning opportunity for students wishing to grow and continue in the business of theatre. Students will learn how to prepare for and execute a successful audition.

Homeschool - Page to Stage $75/moPage to Stage is a course for homeschool students exploring the intersection of theatre and literature. Students will examine two versions of the text, the novel and the script. The examination of the novel will focus on themes, symbolism, and adaptation—how a novel is transformed into a script. Students will be introduced to basic theatre instruction and examine the narrative development. Students will create the set, costumes, and props for the final production. Students may also choose to participate in the production working backstage technical roles, working on marketing, or performing in the production.

Students will study basic stage combat vocabulary, appropriate safety procedures for practicing and performing stage combat, and integration of combat skills within text and scene work.
