Goals for 2014-15: UPDATES
Team PrISUm earned its first ever overall win at the Formula Sun Grand Prix.
Iowa State Steel Bridge placed second in ASCE Midwest Region Student Steel Bridge Competition.
Deliver a high quality education to all of our students

Hire at least 20 new, diverse, high-quality faculty members
• Successful searches all with strong applicant pools
• Hired 17 tenure/tenure track faculty, including 5 as part of the Presidential High-Impact Initiative
• Added 7 new lecturer positions

• Worked extensively with all departments and units on massive cleanup
• Removed 100 tons of metal scrap from properties and found 10,000 square feet of space (worth $4M)

• Cleaned Spangler Hall and Fisk Observatory and turned back over to university

Impacting the Iowa Economy• Over 550 ISU engineering interns were employed by over
250 different Iowa employers located in over 90 communities in 60 counties
• In 2014, 1,548 businesses from 97 Iowa counties received assistance on projects or attended educational workshops from CIRAS staff and partners. Companies reported $386 million of total economic impact:
• $329 million in sales gained or retained• $45 million in new investments• $12 million in costs saved or avoided• 5,154 jobs added or retained• Over the past five years, CIRAS and partners reported impact totaling over
$2 billion dollars with 29,290 jobs added or retained
