Sarris Candy Sales Year-round sale of Sarris candy continues to raise money for Scott Township Public Library. It’s a locally made, quality product on which Friends earns 50% profit. Buying a Sarris candy bar (or two) is a tasty way of contributing to the Library.

Election Day Bake Sale In the last newsletter, we asked for opinions about holding a “No-Bake Bake Sale.” The idea wasn’t popular; we will therefore hold our usual Election Day Bake Sale on Tuesday, November 4. Will you be a baker? A packer? A seller? And/or a buy-er? All of these roles must be filled for us to raise money for Scott Library. If possible, please deliver food items to the Small Meeting Room, which is beside the Tax Office, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday, November 3. Foods containing peanuts, tree nuts, or nut flavorings should be so marked.

Walmart Friends will again have a table outside the Scott Township Walmart on Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12. We’ll sell Sarris candy and promote the use of Scott Library. Because we’ll be outdoors, we will hope for sunny, warm weather. Your help will be appreciated.

From the Director’s Chair by Gina L. Leone, Director

Hello Friends of the Scott Township Public Library,

We are all looking forward to the FOL’s annual Book Sale and the entire STPL team would

like to THANK YOU for your continued support . The FOL strengthen our Library through

volunteerism and the monetary contributions made toward the Library’s annual income. We

are able to use this money to purchase special collection materials for use by all library

members.

The Library is still working on our $5,000 annual matching grant goal. With the help of our

loyal patrons, we have raised over 80% of that goal. We have a little further to go, and with

your assistance, we will exceed the goal to receive the matching $5,000 grant from the

Township! Every dollar puts us closer; please consider making a donation today. Fall 2014 is here and your STPL has planned many incredible events that will encourage

regular library visits and keep everyone excited about reading during the autumn months.

Visit the STPL website’s Programs & Events tab at http://www.scottlibrary.org/ to see our

Calendar of Events. Fall programming includes family friendly pumpkin carving, storytimes,

BINGO, a visit from local author , Ryan Sunseri (book title: jason Earth), senior chair exercises,

a Craft Fair, Trivia Night and much more. Please call, pay us a visit, or view the website for

further details.

It is an honor to work with a great staff, wonderful volunteers, and our very supportive

Friends of the Library, all of which make Scott Township a better community. We always

welcome any suggestions, ideas and recommendations on how STPL can better support

you, your family, and the residents of Scott Township.

We look forward to what we can accomplish together!
