P R I D E News from the ST. MARK Parent – Teacher – Parishioner Organization
ANNUAL VIRTUS MAINTENANCE
WELCOME BACK!
F A L L 2 0 1 4
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” That song and commercial always come to mind at the beginning of each school
year, with images of parents skipping down aisles of back-to-school supplies. For me, that song rings true for different reasons. I see visions
of bright-eyed children excited to reunite with friends and find out their homeroom teachers and classmates; devoted parents eager to share insights and support school activities; enthusiastic teachers and faculty brimming with new ideas on how to guide and teach our precious children.
With those images in mind, and on behalf of the entire PTPO Board, I officially want say “Welcome Back” to our ST. MARK school community – both new and returning families, teachers and faculty. Like the children, we are also very excited about the upcoming school year. We have a lot of work ahead of us and we hope you will join us by volunteering your time, talent and treasure. We could not do it without you, our “village.” And please, do not hesitate to contact me, or any Board member with questions, comments or suggestions.
Wishing you and your children a successful, productive and fun school year! God bless!
Jennifer Trax, PTPO President
SCHOOL DIRECTORIES
The school is moving to an online directory. Because of this change, printed/bound copies of the school directory will be available for purchase only at $5.00 each. Please use the PTPO Activity Fee sheet to order.

We all understand the VIRTUS requirements that are necessary to be cleared to volunteer in the ST. MARK classroom. After you attend the initial VIRTUS seminar, you complete paperwork and submit it to Tim O’Connor in the Parish Office. In turn, Tim sends it to the Diocese where the paperwork is processed and a background check is administered. This process takes several weeks, after which the school is notified of your clearance.
Did you also know that in order to MAINTAIN VIRTUS compliance, EACH YEAR you need to RE-VIEW a 1-hour video? Copies are available in the school and church offices to check out. The PTPO has also organized the following viewing dates and times. Videos will be shown in the conference room near the Early Learning Center.
