Pumpkin Pie Dessert Dip

(2) 8 oz packages softened cream cheese

1 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup pumpkin puree (canned is fine)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon vanilla

Blend all of the ingredients above till smooth but not runny. If dip is runny you can add a little

more cream cheese to thicken.

Top with candied spiced pecans (optional)

Serve with gingersnaps or your other favorite fall cookies.

Candied Spiced Pecans

2 cups whole pecans

1/2 stick butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

In a microwave safe dish melt butter. Place pecans into a large zip lock bag. Add melted

butter, sugar and spices to pecans in the bag. Zip the bag closed and shake contents until the

nuts are coated. Pour nut mixture onto a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. Place pan with

nuts into oven to toast. Cook between 7-10 minutes depending upon your oven, some tend to be

hotter. Watch the nuts closely making sure to shake the pan occasionally and stirring with a

spatula so that the nuts don’t become stuck to the pan. Once you see that the sugar/spice

mixture has begun to caramelize onto the nuts remove the pan from the oven and allow the nuts

to cool completely. To use for a topping you can give a rough chop to these with a knife or leave

whole and eat as they are.

Remember you can play around with the amount of spices for both recipes, add less or more as you like.
