W dementia doubled among those with mild hearing loss, and tripled among those with moderate hearing loss and increased fivefold among those with severe hearing loss. This relationship persisted even when considering other factors such as diabetes, hypertension, etc. When a hearing impaired person wears hearing aids full time, their world opens up, and the isolation ends. If you or someone you know has hearing loss, insist that they get help. Their memory is at stake!

2013. The FCC has issued final regulations for the Captioned Telephone Services (CTS) industry.
The following changes have gone into effect on September 30, 2013:•AllCTSprovidersarerequiredtochargeaminimumpriceof$75for
the phone. Captioned telephones can no longer be offered for free to end-users.
•Professionalcertificationofhearinglossisnolongerrequiredfornew customers. Individuals must self-certify when they purchase the phone.
