President Message from the

Dear Brothers and Sisters:On September 8 our stewards gathered at Montvale Plaza in Stoneham to attend our annual Stewards Conference.Special guests included Elizabeth Warren, our candidate for U.S. Senate. She made it clear to all of us why she wouldbe our advocate in the United States Senate. “I will have your back in Washington,” she said. “Scott Brown does nothave your back, he doesn’t vote in favor of working families.” We need to work hard for Elizabeth Warren.

September 12 marked a special day for Local 25 members and the rest of the labor community when I was swornin to serve on the Massport Board of Directors. My role as the labor representative on the board is to make surethat labor has a strong voice when decisions are being made that affect workers at Massport. Local 25 has a longhistory of leaders serving on the Massport Board dating back to 1956.

I am proud to say that on September 16, I and my leadership team were re-elected to serve our local union foranother three-year term. I believe that this group of dedicated individuals has what it takes to move our 112-year-old local union into the future. We have limitless work to do and with the membership’s vote of confidence, there isnothing that can get in our way. Thank you to our membership for your continued trust in me.

September was a busy month for our chosen charitable cause of autism. On September 22, we held our annual golftournament and raised more than $40,000 from our dedicated membership and corporate sponsors. On September30, we participated in the Boston Walk for Autism at Suffolk Downs where we had a huge presence of support fromour members and their families. Thank you to the membership for all you continue to do for autism.

The labor movement is at a crossroads with this year’s federal election. The choice has never been clearer for pres-ident of the United States. Barack Obama has worked tirelessly to try to move a philosophical roadblock in Wash-ington, D.C. The Republicans have stalled many worker friendly pieces of legislation, stifled jobs bills and tried tostop unemployment benefits for hard working Americans. Mitt Romney is not our friend and never will be ourfriend. He has made his fortune off the backs of working people. We cannot be fooled by the Romney-Ryanticket. If they are elected, our fundamental right to bargain for wages, hours and working conditions will nodoubt be in jeopardy.

We have an opportunity to re-shape the landscape of the United States Senate with the election of Elizabeth Warren. She has proven to us that she is on our side on all of the important issues. Scott Brown, although a seemingly niceguy, does not vote with us on significant bills like unemployment extensions and jobs bills. Nice guys don’t voteagainst unemployment extensions in the middle of the worst economy since the Great Depression. Elizabeth War-ren is our candidate and I urge you and your family to vote for her on November 6.

Thank you for your continued support of my administration. I will not let you down!

Enjoy the upcoming holiday season with your families.

Fraternally,

Sean M. O'BrienPresident/Principal Officer

We have upcoming contract negotiationsat UPS/UPS Freight, DHL, Gate Gourmet,Signature Flight and Boston Tow. GeneralPresident Jim Hoffa has appointed me toserve as a member of the National Negoti-ating Subcommittee, as well as the New

England Supplement Committee, to negotiate a new contract withABF Freight System, Inc.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) haschanged the definition of a tank vehicle which will now require allCDL drivers to obtain the tank endorsement on their CDL license. The new definition now includes drivers who may transport totes ofmore than 119 gallons, with a total aggregate capacity of 1,000 gal-lons or more in a single vehicle. Any employee who operates a towmotor will now need a Hoisting License under MGL 146 Section 53.

The United/Continental Mechanics Integration Committee hasits proposals, and is working with the company to put the contractstogether. These negotiations are ongoing and will take some time. Asthey move forward we will keep our United/Continental mechanicsinformed on the integration.

In closing, don’t forget to utilize the credit union, run by Team-sters for Teamsters.

Business Agent George Slicis

I am no longer handling UPS. I’d like tothank all of the stewards for their hardwork and commitment to this local. I’veenjoyed working with you over theyears. The upcoming negotiations willbe challenging but remember that you

have the best union behind you.As Dave Pietroforte prepares to step down, I will be assuming

the paper and liquor divisions. I look forward to working with thestewards and members of these companies and carrying throughon the good work that Dave did.

I will start negotiations with MS Walker shortly and theAmerican Red Cross in November. The Red Cross will be a

difficult negotiation. The Red Cross has been battling unionsacross the country, trying to pass along the rising health care coststo their employees.

I was honored to be re-elected as part of the President O'Brienteam for another three years. We’ve made great strides but there ismuch work to be done these next three years. I look forward toworking with my colleagues and all of you as we move forward.

Best wishes to you and your family for a healthy fall andupcoming holiday season.

Negotiations continue at a slow pace withthe three groups at the city of Everett. Wehave met numerous times since July andit has gone very slow. Cities and towns allover this country have taken advantage ofthe current economic conditions to avoid

doing the right thing by their employees and the city of Everett is noexception. Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria has decided to take a backseat in these negotiations. Instead of meeting with us, rolling up hissleeves and getting a deal done, he has hired attorneys to do his dirtywork. I call on all members in Everett to come together and tell themayor that not only does he have an obligation to you as employees, but the majority of our members are taxpayers in the city. We mustdemand a fair contract that improves our members’ lives, and if hecontinues to hide behind his office door we will make our messageheard next election at the ballot box.

The construction industry has picked up over the past fewmonths which will keep our concrete members busy. We have addedabout a dozen new seniority members at Boston Sand and Gravel. Ihave been attending many building trades meetings where we areworking on five to six different project labor agreements (PLAs) thatshould be signed off on shortly. PLAs are imperative to our mem-bers’ getting work on construction projects throughout the state andis a clear reason why we need to continue to elect politicians whosupport PLAs.

As we all know, this fall is probably the most important electionany of us have seen in our adult lives and we all must make sure weget out and vote in November. Mitt Romney and Scott Brown areboth against project labor agreements and, if elected, will make sure

that all construction projects are open shop. Obama and Warren arefriends of working people.

In closing, thank you to President O’Brien, and the entire O’BrienSlate, for its decision to nominate me as Vice President and BusinessAgent of the greatest local union in the country. Thank you also tothe membership for allowing me the privilege to represent you. Ilook forward to working hard for all of you in the future.

I am happy to announce that over thesummer I successfully ratified three con-tracts. The first one is a first-time contractwith the security guards at St. ElizabethHospital in Brighton. This is a three-yearcontract. I would like to welcome these 16

new members to Teamsters Local 25. I look forward to representingyou and working with your steward, Eugene Rinaldi!

The second group is Kuehne & Nagel, a logistics company, located in Franklin. I was successful in negotiating a new three-yearagreement, which includes yearly hourly wage increases of 2.5 per-cent for the top tier and 3.5 percent for the newer members, whichhelped bridge the gap. I was also successful in increasing the numberof sick days and vacation days for those newer members. I wouldlike to thank my steward, Steve Brockway, and also Deb Evans, forhelping me in these negotiations.

The third successful contract is a new three-year deal with thetown of Norwell, for the school custodians. The agreement includesyearly wage increases along with monetary incentives tied into theirsick day program. I would like to thank my steward, Joe Healy, andalso Bob Thayer, who helped me in these negotiations.

I now will be preparing for the upcoming negotiations with PeterPan Bus Lines, a contract which expires this coming December.

Joint Venture (The Ride), a para-transit company located inReadville, whose only contract is with the MBTA, was sold lastspring to National Express, a global company based in GreatBritain. Local 25 represents 340 members. When they took over,National Express assured our members that they were going toenhance working conditions and also make improvements inhow our members were treated. In our opinion, nothing has yet changed. National Express has been put on notice that

improvements must take place soon. Finally, we are coming to that time of year again where we ask

and urge you all to think about our members’ children whose par-ents are dealing with hard times, and to all of those children that wecan help this coming Christmas! Our Toys for Tots campaign will bekicking off in late November, and our goal is to surpass last year’sdonations. With your continued generous support, we will.

I look forward to seeing all of you soon.

Field RepresentativeDave Pietroforte

Since my last report, I have been success-ful in reaching agreements with NorthAmerican Industries in Woburn andG.D. Matthews in Charlestown. We rati-fied a new five-year agreement withNorth American Ind. and a three-year

agreement with G.D. Matthews with health and pension and wages.I am still in talks with Chelsea 911 and DPW, and am awaiting

dates from Arrow Paper in Wilmington. Additional negotiationshave started with M.S. Walker in Norwood.

This report is bittersweet for me because it is the last I writeas your field representative. These last six years have been alearning experience filled with successes and challenges. It hasbeen an honor and privilege to work with the leadership, stew-ards and membership.

President O’Brien, you are a true leader and friend. I continueto be amazed by your drive and commitment to all of us. You leadby example and never ask us to do anything you wouldn’t do. Thelocal continues to grow and I look forward to seeing where youtake the union in the future. Local 25, and the IBT, are lucky tohave you.

To the officers and agents, it’s been a great six years! I’m proudof what we’ve accomplished together. To the stewards I’ve workedwith, you are some of the best in the business. You take your role inthis union seriously and always advocate for the workers you repre-sent. To the membership of Local 25, never underestimate thestrength of your union, President O’Brien and his team. They worktirelessly to provide a better life for you and your family.

In closing, I’d like to wish everyone a safe and healthy Thanks-giving and holiday season.

We settled the contract at IndependentPipe and Supply covering 28 drivers andwarehousemen. The negotiations camedown to the wire when PresidentO’Brien came in and closed the deal. Wenegotiated yearly wage increases, a bet-

ter health care plan, all men in progression brought right up totop rate and many other improvements with NO concessions. The contract was ratified unanimously. We also settled the con-tract at Northeast Electrical/Sonepar and ratified the contractunanimously. This contract also contained yearly wage increases(with significant wage increases for the lowest paid members andnew members joining the union), a better health care split (savingmembers up to $400 dollars per month), pension maintenance ofbenefits and other improvements with no givebacks.

We settled the contract with the city of Cambridge on behalfof the DPW supervisors. We negotiated 20 improvements in thecontract with no givebacks. The contract was ratified 7-2. We alsonegotiated an agreement with Muldoon Trucking for the 11 dri-vers and warehousemen.

We continue negotiations at the South Shore Regional Emer-gency Communications Center (SSRECC) covering the dispatch-ers, call takers and supervisors. Negotiations have been slow andquite frustrating for the new and existing members from Cohas-set, Hingham, Hull and Norwell due to the administration of thisnew entity. They have tried to break the will of our membersthrough frivolous discipline, forced overtime, unsafe staffing lev-els and harassment. We have countered with labor charges, arequest for state mediation, and a commitment to our membersthat we will not stop fighting until they have a strong first contractincluding safety and respect in the workplace.

UPS and UPS Freight National Negotiations began on Sep-tember 27 in Washington, D.C., when the union presented pro-posal packages to the company. President O’Brien has appointedme to serve on the Negotiating Committees. I look forward tothe learning experience and thank President O’Brien for theopportunity.

In the moving and storage industry, we have been workinghard to organize the nonunion competition to “even the playingfield.” We have also been educating the nonunion workers regard-ing prevailing wages on state jobs as several of the companies areviolating the laws.

Thank you to all of my stewards, brother and sister members,

and especially President O’Brien for allowing me to represent themembers of Teamsters Local 25 for another three-year term! Havea great fall season and make sure to ship all of your holiday pack-ages via UPS.

Business AgentMark Lessard

Since my previous report, I have com-pleted negotiations and ratified newagreements with the town of Concord(911 Dispatchers), UMass-Boston(patrolmen and sergeants), UMass-Lowell (police and security), Ameri-

cold Logistics, Jet-a-Way, city of Melrose (school administra-tors), Sodexo at Mt. Ida College, Admiral Metals and DSM Neo-Resins in Wilmington. I have completed negotiations with thetown of Winthrop on behalf of the clerical members and will beholding a ratification meeting soon.

I am in the process of beginning negotiations with the towns ofSudbury, Brookline and Saugus on behalf of the 911 dispatchers inthose towns. I continue to negotiate with the town of Tewksburyfor the school nurses and school administrators.

I have two cases filed for arbitration at Hertz/Logan and I amin the process of scheduling dates for both of these cases, whichinvolve terminated members. I will follow up in my next report.

At UPS in Chelmsford, the problem of supervisors working and9.5 violations (excessive overtime) continue to be issues. The stew-ards do a great job monitoring both issues and file the appropriategrievances as needed. I would like to thank the stewards for all thatthey do for Local 25 and its members. The company has begun tohire seasonal workers for their peak season.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the follow-ing stewards who have recently been elected or appointed torepresent their fellow brothers and sisters: Tom Mahoney ofDSM Neoresins, Zoila Perez of Emerald Green Building Ser-vices, Robert Pugsley of Sodexo, Robert Brugman of Hertz,Roger Wallace of the Acton 911 dispatchers, George Taylor ofthe Sudbury 911 dispatchers, Jorge Ortiz of UMass-Bostonpatrolmen, Fred Rheault of UMass-Lowell patrolmen, Joe Hey-wood of Jet-a-Way and John O’Connor of Admiral Metals. Iwant to thank them and wish them the best with their new lead-ership positions.

In closing, I hope everyone had a great fall and I wish you allgood health! Be safe!

More than 150 Local 25 stewards attended the annual Stewards’ Seminar onSaturday, September 8, at Montvale Plaza in Stoneham. The program fea-tured a full day of presentations that focused on member services and why

the November elections are crucial to our future.President Sean O’Brien opened the program by welcoming two of his col-

leagues on the Teamsters General Executive Board, William Hamilton, President ofLocal 107 in Pennsylvania, and John Murphy, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 122 inBoston, who stressed the importance of stewards being a direct link to members.

Attendees gave a rousing welcome to Elizabeth Warren, candidate for U.S. Sen-ate. Warren spoke passionately about her goals for the middle class. Warren’s com-ments made it clear that this election is critical for the working class and for ourmembers across the country and here at home. A victory in this Senate race couldpotentially switch the dynamics of the Senate in our favor and that could meanmore opportunity for working families everywhere. Following her remarks, Warren met individually with stewards.

Christy Bailey, Director of the Teamsters Department of Field and PoliticalAction, spoke about the 2012 elections. She reviewed key states that the TeamstersUnion is focusing on this election and the “get out the vote” strategy.

Leslie Miller, Communications Coordinator in the Teamsters CommunicationsDepartment, spoke about social media. She discussed how the Teamsters Unionuses Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest to get its message out by posting photos andinformation with a labor focus. Local 25 has recently started utilizing social mediato highlight our legislative victories, charities and information on rallies, strikesand other events.

TeamstersCare’s Larry Libby, Mark Staniul and Leslie Russell updated attendeeson the Employee Assistance Program. This program is specifically for membersand their families who are battling substance abuse. All inquiries are always keptconfidential. The main office is located in Charlestown across from the union hall.Visit teamsterscare.com to learn more.

The program concluded with President O’Brien providing closing remarks anda few lucky stewards winning raffle items. Thank you to the vendors who were onhand to offer information to our members!

Stewards in attendance said the event was a great learning experience.“The seminar was informative, interactive and an opportunity for me to learn

from my peers,” said Michelle Joshua, a steward at UPS in Chelmsford. “I left withvaluable information to bring back to my members.”

“I always look forward to the Stewards’ Seminar,” said Kevin McNiff, a stewardat Freeman. “It’s an opportunity to learn from labor leaders about the importantissues facing our union and how we can work together to stay strong and be suc-cessful. This year’s program did not disappoint.”

Local 25 Members on Strikeat xpedx in Wilmington

Local 25 members who work at International Paper/xpedx in Wilming-ton, Massachusetts remain strong and united on the strike line, fightingfor long-term job security for themselves and for their families.

“Calling this particular strike in these hard economic timeswas not an easy decision on my part, but the organized labormovement must rise to counter-punch these corporate bullieswhen they try to take away good paying jobs and benefits,” saidSean M. O’Brien, Local 25 President & Principal Officer.“These workers at xpedx are tough and they will fight one daylonger than the company to protect what they have.”

At press time, the strike was in its 16th day (it began onOctober 1). The drivers and warehouse workers were distrib-uting fliers to customers at the company’s plant at 613 MainSt. in Wilmington and conducting rolling picket lines at cus-tomer locations.

“We are educating customers and sending the com-pany a message that we will not tolerate its attacks onmiddle-class workers,” said Michael Woolf, chief steward.“The company is not treating us fairly. We are gettingempty promises.”

“During negotiations last year, the company promisedto negotiate a longer, four- or five-year contract if work-ers ratified a one-year deal,” said Dave Pietroforte, Local25 Field Representative. “However, the company renegedand is offering another one-year contract.”

“The workers ratified the one-year contract with thepromise of a longer contract this time around, but thecompany went back on its word,” said Pietroforte. “Ourmembers want a contract that provides long-term

security. The workers are strong and united and we will not stop until we win this fight.”

“President Barack Obama has stood up for Teamsters and

working families here in Massachusetts and around the

country during the worst recession since the Great Depres-

sion,” said Sean M. O’Brien, Local 25 President. “Former Gov.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, has not been a friend to

working families. He would rather protect the interests of

millionaires so that they can make more and more money.”

In the U.S. Senate race, Harvard Law Professor Elizabeth

Warren has also stood side-by-side with workers and supports

laws that help them have a fair shot at the American dream, while

Sen. Scott Brown has too often sided with groups that attack

workers and labor.

“Elizabeth Warren understands our members’ challenges and

what workers are going through right now in Massachusetts,”

O’Brien said. “Scott Brown has ignored our challenges and sides

with corporate America and its profits-over-people mentality.”

Under Obama’s leadership, we have seen a steady recovery,

with more than 29 months of growth in jobs in the private sec-

tor, and the first increase in employment in manufacturing

since the 1990s. In addition, the auto industry is stronger then

ever due to the efforts of the current administration.

President Obama has defended Medicare and Social Secu-

rity, refusing to make cuts to benefits, or to raise the retire-

ment age, ensuring our safe and secure retirement. He did

this while cutting taxes for middle class and Teamster families

while fighting to make sure that the rich and corporations

pay their fair share.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have taken a sharply differ-

ent path. They have proposed more tax cuts for the rich and

corporations, while raising taxes on middle class and Team-

ster families. They have voted for a plan to turn Medicare

into a voucher program, which would cost Teamster retirees

more than $6,400 more a year, sending most retired Ameri-

cans into poverty.

Warren will fight for project labor agreements and work

to bring back manufacturing jobs. She will invest in educa-

tion and infrastructure and will not support tax breaks for

millionaires. She will also support Davis-Bacon, the federal

law which established the requirement for paying prevailing

wages on public works projects.

Obama and Warren have proven they are friends of work-

ing families, including Local 25 members and their families.

“It is a shame that this Ivory Street transfer facility has decided touse nonunion, out-of-state workers for its expansion,” said Local 25President Sean O’Brien. “This behavior is the reason the middle classis shrinking.”

The crowd of protesters was evenly split among Teamsters Local25 members and Carpenters, although the crowd got louder and morerowdy when the two Teamsters Local 25 tractor-trailer trucks rode by.There were no arrests or incidents.

“I would like to thank President Sean O’Brien for his olive branchof solidarity,” said Joseph Shanley of Hingham-based CarpentersLocal 424. “We need to stick together more often when good middle-class jobs are being denied from well-trained workers and members ofthe local community.”

The wind and rain didn’t keep Teamsters Local 25 membersfrom participating in the 12th Annual Greater Boston Walk Nowfor Autism Speaks event on Sunday, September 30. This is thesixth year that Local 25 has participated and we are proud tocontinue to be the number-one fundraiser in New England.More than 300 members, their family and friends walked andraised more than $15,000.

“The Autism Speaks Walk was our first introduction to autism, and since then we have never looked backed, raising more than $1.5million in just six years for this developmental disorder,” said Local25 President Sean O’Brien. “It’s important for our members to par-ticipate and see that this effort is much larger than just them, theirfamily and friends. We’re all in this fight together until the day whenautism is no longer an epidemic.”

As several thousand walkers from across the state descendedon the track at Suffolk Downs, O’Brien addressed the crowdbefore honorary Local 25 member Christopher Duffley againwowed the crowd with his rendition of “Lean on Me.” Local 25friends Randy Price (WCVB, The Boston Channel) and HankMorse (105.7 WROR) emceed the event.

Also on Russell’s team was Deana Bailey, from UPS. This washer first half marathon ever. Russell and Bailey forged a bond dur-ing training, often emailing each other to provide moral support.“Running the half marathon was a huge challenge for me onemorning this year,” said Bailey. “Children and adults on the autismspectrum face marathon-like challenges every day.”

“The high point of the race was when I saw Rachel Falino’s sonNick holding the Teamsters Local 25 sign,” Russell said. “It was agreat reminder of why I did the race, and helped me to finishstrong.” Russell finished in a very respectful 2:17:04, just threeminutes from her goal.

The Local 25 union hall was packed on September 16 when members

re-elected President Sean M. O’Brien and his team for another three-

year term running from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2016.

“I am very excited that the Local 25 membership has entrusted me

with the leadership of this great local union for another three years. I

will not take this task lightly,” O’Brien said. “The members and their

families have our full commitment. We will work harder, faster and

stronger than ever to uphold the current wages and benefits that we

currently enjoy. We will not sit idly and watch as these anti-worker,

multinational companies try to set us back 100 years with their sys-

temic destruction of the middle class.”

The fact that the O’Brien Slate was elected unopposed for the third

straight term is “unprecedented,” according to Joe Conti, President of

the Teamsters Local 25 Retiree Chapter.

“I have been around this local union for years and I have never

seen a leadership team go unopposed three terms in a row,” Conti

said. “President O’Brien and his team must be doing a great job

servicing the membership and negotiating stronger and

stronger contracts. I am more proud than ever to be part of

this powerful union.”

The two new additions to the 2013-2016 O’Brien team are

Trustees Joan Corey and Ken Ciccone.

Corey is the appraiser/assistant assessor for the city of

Woburn, and played a pivotal role in her union’s organizing

drive to join Local 25 in 2007.

“Joan Corey pushed hard to have Teamsters Local 25

represent her fellow workers in the city of Woburn,” O’Brien

said. “She stood strong against a mayor who refused to recog-

nize that 100 percent of the department heads and assistant

department heads had voted to join our union. Joan has been

a tremendous asset since joining Local 25. Whether it is on the

strike line or as a member of both our Women’s and Autism

Committee, Joan is always there for us. I am proud to have her

on my leadership team.”

“I am honored to have been nominated by President

O'Brien to serve on his leadership team,” Corey said. “I am

looking forward to serving in this capacity and grateful for the

opportunity to help make a difference within the organiza-

tion and to shape Local 25’s future.”

Ciccone is a 25-year UPS Teamster with Local 25, with 19

of those years serving as steward.

“Kenny has fought for the members of this local union for

a quarter century. He has earned the utmost respect and con-

fidence from his peers at UPS in Chelmsford,” O’Brien said. “I

have learned a great deal from Kenny over the years and I am

extremely excited to have him as a Trustee of Local 25.”

“With President O’Brien, it is all about the members and

what is best for them. He truly is a trusted leader,” Ciccone

said. “I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running

and working with the entire team to continue to move this

union forward.”

President O’Brien addresses the membership to nominate his leadership team.

A Message from Mark HarringtonLocal 25 Secretary-Treasurer

I want to start my report by thanking the membership for reelecting me to

the office of Secretary-Treasurer. In 2013, I will start my eighth term as an

elected union official in this great local, my fourth as your Secretary-Trea-

surer. It is such an honor to serve you and be able to work alongside Presi-

dent Sean O’Brien. His dedication to this union drives me every day.

We recently held our annual scholarship golf outing. Once again it was a

great success, raising more than $40,000. I want to thank co-chair John

Murphy and our events coordinator, Trisha DiSilva, and all the volunteers

who worked so hard to make this such a great event. I’d also like to take a

moment to thank all the sponsors and players who fund the event.

In the area of contracts, I settled two contracts on newly organized com-

panies in the oil division, Global Dispatchers and Sun Logistics. In both

cases members received solid wage increases and many other contractual

benefits. Both contracts were ratified unanimously. We still continue to have

success in the motion picture industry with two productions here this fall.

I will be scheduling proposal meetings over the next couple of months

with Manfi Leasing, the Rigging Industry and the Oil Division, as well as

Aggregate Industry in the concrete division. These contracts will impact our

members at more than 20 companies. I believe that without a doubt we will

be on strike somewhere along the line with these companies. So my message

for members working at these companies is to set some money aside.

Since my last report the local continues to operate in the black. We look

forward to having another year where we make money.

In closing, I urge you to VOTE. This is the most important election of

our lifetime.

On October 11, the Local 25 Retiree Chapter held

its quarterly meeting. Larry Giuseppe spoke about

the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the

benefits that are available, including hearing aids.

Veterans Affairs offers many resources for veterans.

If you have questions about any of these benefits

you can visit the VA web site, www.va.gov or call

toll-free, 1 (877) 222-8387.

We’ve had 18 members pass away since April.

Our next Chapter breakfast meeting will be held in

the new year on January 10. Meetings are held on

the second Thursday of the month in January,

April and October.

The Retiree Chapter has been working hard

to elect Elizabeth Warren to the U.S. Senate. Led

by Chapter President Joe Conti and Bill Grubbs,

retirees have attended rallies, debates and cam-

paign visibilities. In fact, if you see the Local 25

van on the road, chances are pretty good Presi-

dent Conti is at the helm driving to a Warren

campaign event.

Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are

issues driving voters in this election. The two

candidates offer stark differences in their

approach and we believe that Elizabeth Warren

is the best candidate for retirees, future retirees

and working families.

This holiday season the Retiree Chapter will

once again help with the Teamsters Local 25 Toys

for Tots program. This is a great way to bring a

smile to a child’s face by donating a new or

unused toy.

Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Holiday

season to all of our retirees and their families!
