Coordinate all activities of the College Alumni Organization (CALSAO) and its Board of Directors
Assist board in organizing annual Scramble for Scholars golf tournament
Plan and travel to alumni regional events in the Commonwealth featuring speakers from campus and highlighting off-campus facilities and programs
Plan annual Alumni Awards Weekend
Coordinate marketing efforts of CALSAO through online and print media outlets and displays
Cultivate and secure sponsors for various events; cultivate donors for CALSAO endowment funds
NEW! Introduced “Virginia Agriculture” tent at 2010 CALS FALL FEST Homecoming Celebration featuring exhibitors from agricultural organizations and commodity groups along with departments and student organizations

• Consultant hired effective Sept 1st and is housed two days a week in Holtzman Center.
• Focus areas of the program are: Website – www.alumni.vt.edu/career -Revamped with content for alumni
looking for jobs or changing careers. Includes assistance with networking, interviewing, resume writing, etc. Webinars on relevant career topics and ideas are included.
Marketing – A job board containing numerous job openings on Hokie Nation Network is critical in serving our alumni career needs. Marketing campaigns and incentive programs are currently underway to populate the Hokie Nation Network with additional alumni profiles and job postings by employers.
Personal assistance – responding to phone calls and emails from alumni and recruiters, presenting the program at chapter events where career related topics are featured, and creating articles and newsletters to inform Hokies about the program are key success factors .
