Thank you for taking a few minutes to read about our ministry, and to learn
how you can be part of what God is doing in northeast Taiwan! We praise
God for your faithful prayers and financial support!
“I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people” – Luke 2:10b
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be yours in abundance as
we all celebrate His birth this Christmas season! Glory to God in the highest!
Paul & Lori Evans
When the school calls saying they want their whole school to come over to the
church on Halloween, what do you do? As Christians, we don’t really “celebrate”
Halloween, but we’re not going to pass up an opportunity to share Jesus! We had
the joy of hosting about 70 students and teachers from Dasi Elementary School
at the church in Dasi on October 31st. They learned the song, “Jesus is My
Superhero,” and got to hear a short message about how Jesus is stronger than
any other gods or demons… and that if they have Jesus, they don’t need to be
afraid. Praise the Lord for continuing to provide opportunities to share the
Gospel in northeast Taiwan!
We had great turnouts for all three Thanksgiving outreach events at the
Fulong, Aodi, and Dasi churches! Check out the photos on page 2!

Jesus is My Superhero!
We Give Thanks!

Thanksgiving in Aodi!
Thanksgiving in Dasi!
Between all three events, we served roughly 160
traditional Thanksgiving meals over 3 consecutive
days! All the missionaries were pretty wiped out by the
end of the last event, but it was worth it!
We were blessed by having some Taiwanese brothers and sisters from ShuangXi come to Dasi Church to help lead
that event. They presented a children’s lesson, provided live music, and a moving testimony from “Cherry” about
how Jesus saved her from fear and darkness!
As I watched the crowd during her testimony, it seemed everyone
was caught up in her story. Their praise team led a worship song
after Cherry finished speaking… and we had church! God’s Spirit
was present and at work! Most of the missionaries were wiping
tears, and even those who are not believers seemed moved by
what they experienced that evening. Praise the Lord!
There is a lot of hard work involved, but when God shows up, it’s
always worth it!
Please pray for all the people who heard and experienced the Gospel at
these three Thanksgiving events that they would believe and place their
faith in Jesus!
Thanksgiving in Fulong!
Sharing the Gospel with the children at Dasi Church

First, we want to thank everyone who participated in our recent t-shirt fundraiser!
Your support will help offset some of our extra ministry and living expenses over
the holidays. Your sacrificial giving and words of encouragement are a tremendous
blessing to us. Thank You!
We’re also looking forward to our Christmas outreach events that begin next week! It
will be all-hands-on-deck as we prepare and present this year’s theme, “Jesus is the
Light of the World,” to over 800 students and teachers in 13 schools in northeast Taiwan!
Please pray for strength, health, and energy for the missionary team as we do these events, and also as we prepare
and host Christmas parties at each of the three NETCA churches. We are expecting another couple of hundred
people to show up at those three church parties.
Some local families came to Dasi Church last Sunday to decorate our Christmas
tree! Before decorating the tree, we were able to share about the symbolism of the
Christmas tree, the star at the top of the tree, and the lights… how it all points to
Jesus… how we can have everlasting life when we place our faith in Him… how
Jesus truly is the Light of the World who sets us free from sin and darkness!
Please pray for these next few weeks of important evangelistic outreach, and that
the Holy Spirit will change lives for the glory of God and His great name!
Amen!
“The Lord is righteous in all His ways and faithful in all He does.
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”
(Psalm 145:17-18)
This year, the entire
Christmas story is
presented in both English
and Mandarin on a high-
quality poster that we’re
hoping the children will
want to put up on their
walls at home.
On the back of the poster
are games and puzzles to
help improve their English
skills while also reinforcing
the Christmas story and
having fun at the same
time!
Jesus is the Light of the World!

We have been praying and seeking the Lord as a family over the past few months
about returning to the States for a season. This has been an agonizing process for
us. We have seen and experienced first-hand the desperate spiritual needs here
in Taiwan, and know that the laborers are few.
In some ways, it seems that it takes as much faith and courage to leave the field
as it did to bring us here to begin with. Over three years ago, our family was
praying Exodus 33:15 about coming to Taiwan… “If Your Presence does not go
with us, do not bring us up from here.” That continues to be our prayer today as
we follow the Lord’s leading to return.
After much prayer and many family discussions, it has become clear to us that it
is time for us to leave. We decided as a family that our return should coincide
with the timing for our next visa renewal trip. So, we have purchased tickets to
fly back to the States on January 23, 2018.
Our initial plan is to get readjusted, visit family, do some speaking & preaching as
the Lord allows, and work on building a stronger financial base. Lori and I
anticipate returning to the field at some point, but it could be upwards of a year.
We are confident in the Lord’s direction and timing, and trust completely in His
provision… both for our family and for the continuing ministry here in northeast
Taiwan. We will keep you updated as the Lord provides further direction
regarding where we will be living and ministering during this next season.
We cannot sufficiently express in words how important your prayers and
financial support are to us! Will you please PRAY for:
Boldness in proclaiming the Gospel, and for hearts to be forever changed
Upcoming Christmas outreach events
Continued ministry of NETCA and the Dasi Church in our absence
God’s provision and direction for our family & ministry
Thank you all for your faithful prayers and for your generous support!
