Even Millstones Became Milestones

1925 - Church planted for poor East LA Japanese immigrants

1940s - Church endured while scattered to concentration camps

1950 - Separated from 1Gen, changed to non-ethnic name

1960s - Multi-ethnic, anti-war, Asian American activism

Sanctuary nearly burned down, pastor left: move or close?

Refused to follow pastor in new direction, avoided becoming a cult

1976: Called atypical person

1980s: Open to ABCs > First AA church > moved to Rosemead

1996: Church ‘hives’ to become missional multi-ethnic Faith Village

TODAY: Completed the campus, hosting homeless families, learning how to trust Jesus even more
