Congregational Life

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. The word Advent means "coming" or "arrival." The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ in His First Advent, and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in His Second Advent. Advent is marked by a spirit of expectation, of anticipation, of preparation, of longing. May this be a time of preparing your hearts, and welcoming Jesus to dwell and abide within your hearts in a new and fresh way this season.

This Morning during our worship service we will commemorate Jesus’ death and resurrection as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. We invite children and adults, all who have professed Jesus as their Lord and Savior, to join us in communion. The second offering is the Benevolence offering. It is a thank offering that the deacons use to help those in need who are a part of this congregation or for others in the community.

Missions Pledges: Extra Missions Pledges Pamphlets are located on the entryway table. See who we as a church support and prayerfully consider who you will pledge to support for this year. Return your filled out pledge form in the next few weeks. REVERIE OUTREACH: 4 SERVERS ARE NEEDED FOR TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 29 FROM 5-8 PM. SIGN UP IN THE ENTRYWAY. Church Directories: This is the last week to check the church directories for any errors. Please check the sample copies and make any necessary corrections. 2016 Advent Devotional: Starting November 28, World Renew and the CRC Office of Social Justice will begin sharing a devotional series for Advent 2016 called The Things that Make for Peace to orient your Christmas season. To sign up, go to crcna.org/advent.
