Lake Cruises

The Belle Époque boats have been navigating Central Europe’s largest inland lake for 140 years and offer fantastic cruises between France and Switzerland. The views from the boat extend from harbours and castles (Chillon, Morges, Rolle, Yvoire among others) over vineyards to the Alps snow-covered summits. The “Montreux” (built 1904) is the oldest boat in regular operation while the elegant La Suisse (1910) is the Grande Dame of the CGN fleet.

Lavaux Vineyards

Covering 800 hectares, Lavaux is the largest contiguous vineyard region in Switzerland, and its daringly constructed hillside terraces have been protected by UNESCO since 2007. Right at the start, the medieval St. Saphorinwith its narrow alleys and characteristic winegrowers' houses from the 16th to 19th centuries is worth a visit. On some days of the week the "Lavaux Express" is ready to comfortably transport tired hikers through the World Heritage Region, as is the "Lavaux-Panoramic" train, which takes hikers through the same region.

Queen – The Studio Experience

An exhibition on the work of Queen in the 1970s has been staged in the world-famous Montreux Mountain Studios at Casino BarrièreMontreux, where the band created a major portion of their most successful albums. The exhibits include numerous memorabilia, such as the handwritten original versions of the songs or instruments. The centerpiece of the exhibition is the original sound studio that was used by the band and where Freddie Mercury recorded his last songs.

Balloon Flights – Château d’Oex

In the last week in January every year, Château-d'Oex provides the setting for an international spectacle, which is, in fact, the leading alpine ballooning event: the "Semaine Internationale de Ballons à Air Chaud" (International Hot Air Balloon Week) involves around 90 balloon pilots and is full of fascinating colours and shapes!

Rafting, Canyoning, Kayak

Across the wild gorges of Vaneland Gérignoz you will find a 15 km rafting course, one of the most beautiful in Switzerland, to be encountered in rafts with 4 to 8 places. Visitors can also make use of the canyoning, canoe-kayaking or hydrospeed (white water sledging/riverboarding) facilities.Between mid-April and the end of August (between the end of June and the end of September for canyoning). Olympic Museum

The Olympic Museum, which was opened in 1993 in Ouchy, a district of Lausanne, reflects the spirit of the sports games which bring nations together. An unusual new building in the most beautiful of locations on Lake Geneva is home to interactive exhibitions, documents, films and collections of precious objects dating from Greek antiquity up until modern times. The museum is the largest information center on the subject of the Olympic Games in the world.

Golf Club Aigle

Protected by the surrounding mountains and out of reach of the mists of Lake Geneva, the golf course lies at the centre of an unusually mild microclimate. These weather conditions mean it can remain open all year round.Golf Club Montreux belongs to an elite circle of owner clubs. It has owned all of its practice facilities since the year 2000, notably a driving range, an indoor putting carpet, a Pro Shop and a Club House with a fine food restaurant. Gruyere Castle and region

The historical town of Gruyères, Greyerz in German, has preserved its Medieval character up until today. The old comital residence lies on a hill above the river Saane. The castle, which dates back to the 13th century, is today a museum depicting 800 years of regional architecture, history and culture. The town also has a charm all of its own thanks to its superb gastronomy and its modern show dairy. The museum of H. R. Gigershowcases the fantastical art of the Oscar-winner and «Alien» creator.

Rochers-de-Naye

Towering at an altitude of 2,042 m, Rochers-de-Naye has long been a favoured destination for nature lovers. To get to this unique place, take the charming cog railway that departs every hour from Montreux and ascends more than 1,600 m on a magnificent journey through fields, villages and forests. After a journey that takes around 55 minutes – and is worth doing on its own – you reach the summit, where a whole host of activities are available such as skiing during winter, hiking, biking, and marmots observation for kids.

Glacier 3000

The glacier area is surprisingly diverse and guarantees a wide selection of sports activities for all those who want to really enjoy themselves in the snow. From the top of the glacier you can see 24 summits over 4,000 metres, including Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and the Bernese Alps. Activities include Dog sleigh ride, the Peak Walk, the Alpine Coaster, Snowshoeing, Igloo building and Tobogganing on dustbin lids.

AquaParc Le Bouveret

"Aquaparc Le Bouveret" on the shores of Lake Geneva offers visitors the opportunity to really enjoy themselves in water. The water park, which has an area of 15,000 square meters, is divided into three different sectors. The Jungle-Land has exotic plants, waterfalls and grottos, as well as seven water slides, which serve the purpose of giving visitors a thrill. A new water slide with loops guarantees an adrenalin surge. "Captain Kids’ Land" caters to children between the ages of 2 and 7, who can conquer pirate ships here and shoot water cannons.

Swiss Vapeur Parc

Swiss Vapeur Parc is a model railway park that was created in 120,000 man-hours. It has a 1,700 meter long main track, 300 meters of subsidiary tracks and 1,200 meters of footpaths. The 16 locomotives and railcars ride on the tracks, eight of them with steam power. In the lovingly and meticulously designed miniature Switzerland, 62 signals regulate train traffic, leading it across railroad crossings and past intricate models of sights such as Aigle Castle, the church of Saanen, the market halls of Neuenburg and bridges, viaducts and tunnels.

Parc Aventure Aigle

Outfitted with a safety harness, participants can perform their monkeyshines in perfect security 15 metres above the ground. There are five courses of varying difficulty. The minimum age of participants for these courses is 8 years old. Two children's courses, the «Picolo» and the «Mosquito» designed for the exclusive use of kids 4-7 years of age. More than 100 activities have been organized in the two hectares of parkland for youngsters and adults. There is also a picnic area and a refreshment stand. Open from May to October.

Toboganning Park - Leysin

Ice tobogganing is a form of fun for anyone who likes to get their adrenalin flowing! What could be better than racing down the slopes, some of them up to 250 m long, with built-in steep curves. The boldest will test themselves on the track with the 360° curve, while there are special mini-slopes for children.

Montreux Jazz Festival

MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL

Over the past 50 years the Montreux Jazz Festival has become a singular rendez-vous in the world of music, taking place the first two weeks of July each year. Originally a pure jazz festival, it opened up in the 1970s and today presents artists of nearly every imaginable music style. Jazz remains an important part of the festival. Part of the festival's expansion was due to coproduction by Quincy Jones who brought many international artists in the early 1990s. The festival attracts an audience of more than 200,000 people. First two weeks of July, each year.

Montreux Comedy Festival

SEPTEMBRE MUSICAL

For four days in December, Montreux becomes the French-speaking capital of laughter. The top comedy festival in French-speaking Switzerland, the Montreux Comedy Festival organizes gala evenings which are screened on most Swiss and French television stations.
