The music on this Compact Digital Disc was originally recorded on analog equipment. We have attempted to preserve, as closely as possible, the sound of the original recording. Because of its high resolution, however, the Compact Disc can reveal limitations of the source tape.

NOTES
Released in the spring of 1981, Fair Warning was Van Halen's fourth album and fourth consecutive million seller. The LP, produced by Ted Templeman, featured all original material by the band, including such in-concert favorites as "So This Is Love?," "Push Comes To Shove" and "Unchained."
Originally trained as concert pianists, the Netherlands-born Van Halen brothers, Alex and Eddie, relocated to Los Angeles with their family in the late 60s. Eddie learned to play drums and Alex picked up the guitar, but by the time they formed their first group. Mammoth, they had switched instruments. With the addition of bassist Michael Anthony, recruited from a rival band, and Midwestern-bred vocalist David Lee Roth, the line-up was complete. From 1974 to 1976 the group established itself as a favorite on the L.A. club scene. There they were spotted by Kiss' Gene Simmons, who financed a demo tape. In 1977, the band was signed to Warner Bros. Records.
What followed was an uninterrupted run of Platinum albums and sold-out stadium dates. Van Halen's self-titled debut featured two hits, "You Really Got Me" and "Runnin' With The Devil." 1979's Van Haien II and 1980's Women and Children F/rsf were both Top 10, multi-million sellers.
The music of Fair Warning highlighted a less structured, more open approach, well suited to the band's incendiary stage show. Following the release of Fair Warning, the band embarked on a barnstorming 10-month world tour.

The Compact Disc Digital Audio System offers the best possible sound reproduction-on a small, convenient disc. Its remarkable performance is the result of a unique combination of digital storage and laser optics.
For best results, you should apply the same care in storing and handling the Compact Disc as you would with conventional records. No cleaning is necessary if the Compact Disc is always held
by its edges and is replaced in its case directly after playing. If the Compact Disc becomes soiled by fingerprints, >^ll^ dust or dirt, it can be wiped (always in a straight line, from center to edge) with a clean and lint*free,
soft, dry cloth. Never use a solvent or abrasive cleaner to clean the disc. If you follow these suggestions, the Compact Disc will provide a lifetime of listening enjoyment.
