The Blackwood Gallery is a contemporary art gallery situated on the

Mississauga campus of the University of Toronto. The Gallery presents

curated exhibitions featuring the work of local, national, and

international professional artists. The main space of the Gallery is

located in room 140 of the Kaneff Centre on Inner Circle Road. The

Blackwood has an additional exhibition space, the e|gallery, on the

ground floor of the Communication, Culture, and Information

Technology Building (CCT). The Blackwood also programs the Bernie

Miller Lightbox on the outside of South Building. The Blackwood

presents approximately five exhibitions each year, including off-site

exhibitions and graduating students shows. In addition to its exhibition

schedule, the Blackwood presents a number of special projects,

including publications, public lectures, symposia, and conferences.

Come share your passion at the ROM! If you are interested in

environmental education or history and cultures, enthusiastic and

enjoy working with children, then this is the place for you. The

Hands-on Biodiversity and Discovery Galleries are interactive areas that

use activity boxes, displays, and real artifacts and specimens to

encourage visitors to learn about history and culture or biodiversity

and natural science. As a volunteer you will use your background in

science or history to inspire the next generation. Volunteers engage

visitors, introduce them to gallery activities and concepts, and then

guide them through the process of discovery learning. This position

provides opportunities for training in experiential education in an

to the Peel immigrant community since 1985, through English language

Adult Day Program provides services to frail/elderly South Asian seniors

with chronic illness or a disability, while our Senior’s Wellness program

focuses on light exercises, mental stimulation and social activities. We

also provide housing support and case management to South Asians

small to discuss. We are a non-profit with front line volunteers who are

fully trained in handling crisis/distress calls. We have Multilingual lines

Punjabi, Urdu and English. We have programs where we call clients for

medication reminders and wellness checks.

The Official Languages Programs: The Odyssey Language Assistant

Program, and the Explore French Immersion Bursary Program |

The Official Languages Programs are funded by the Department of

Canadian Heritage, and are here to help you improve your French

fluency! The Explore French Immersion Bursary will cover

accommodation, tuition, food, and (most) activity costs for a 5-week

spring/summer French course at one of our partner university or

colleges. This program is for people of all skill levels, from speaking no

French to being practically bilingual, and can be won by anyone who

Each year more than 3, 000 runners and walkers participate in the

Mississauga CIBC Run for the Cure on the UTM campus, full of

memorable experiences for everyone who participates on Sunday,

October 4, 2015! UTM is one of 62 sites hosting the Run for the Cure

for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The event is a 1k or 5k run

and/or walk. You don’t have to decide your distance or whether you will

be walking, running or a combination of the two until the day of the

event. We also need volunteers! You can make a difference, too! With

your support, the Foundation will continue to fund vital research and

community health grants that have led progress in breast cancer

prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.
