Why do we need to collect and store personal data?

We need to collect and store your personal data so that we can tailor our services to meet any needs you may have and to contact you when you access some of our services.

This leaflet tells you what we do with the personal or sensitive information you provide, who we may share it with and why it is necessary to share it.

Please be assured that all of our actions will be taken in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will only use the information for its intended purpose. Sharing information with others

Sometimes we have to confirm or share information about you with other organisations so that we are able to fulfil our legal responsibilities or provide services.

Any organisation we share your information with is obliged to keep your details safe and secure, and use them only to fulfil a specific request.

Keeping your information

We will keep your information for as long as we are legally obliged to. While we are securely holding your information we will protect it against unauthorised change, damage, loss or theft. After this we will dispose of it securely and properly.

Your rights

You may ask to see the information we keep about you. You will need to tell us what information you want to look at, which service or department holds the information, what format you would like the information in (e.g. large print, hard copy, alternative language) along with your name and address.

Any information we receive about you from a third party will not be passed on, nor will we identify the third party.

We will supply the information you ask for within 40 days, or give you a reason if we cannot do so. We will charge a minimum fee of £10 for providing the information.
