Background : KAU University Hospital was established by the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud while he was crown prince in 1976, 1396 AH. Initially the University Hospital had a capacity of 36 beds, and in the following years the number was increased gradually to 291 beds.The New King Abdul Aziz University Hospital was inaugurated by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques -during his reign as crown prince in 1996 AH.The Hospital worked initially at a capacity of 250 beds, and increased to about 400 beds by 2002. Total capacity today is 895 beds.

FOND 101 : Foundation Course This course deals with basic subjects to identify the require-ments of basic medical sciences, and teaches students medical terminology and introduces them to the principles of medical education.ANTM 212 : General Anatomy (1) To identify the precise anatomical configuration of the compo-nents of human parts, the upper and lower chest, abdomen and pelvis and the perineum through practical anatomy and previous autopsy study samples and museum samples. ANTM 211 : Cells and Tissues Knowledge of different textile techniques to obtain tissue sam-ples and methods of cutting and dying. ANTM 213 : EmbryologyUnderstanding of the stages of normal development of sperm and gamete and embryo and causes of congenital defects and variations.BCHM 211 : Biochemical Basis of Medicine (1) Knowledge and appreciation of the functions of the surrounding tissue cells and function of proteins to work as a pump or portal or conduit for different materials. PATM 211 : Pathology (1)Investigation of the benefits and applications of laboratory tests and techniques; illustrations of the various diseases, diagnostic methods, disease progression and response to treatment.
